I've haven't been following it too closely but I'm still here unnoun.
So there is no need to be feeling isolated XD
hashtagsarestupidThey do have combat/weapon things though, that's what the crafting system is for.
It's just, the Alien is supposed to adapt, and learn, so the same trick won't work twice.
You won't be able to kill it with any of the weapons, obviously. But I'm guessing you can hurt it enough to make it retreat temporarily.
Of course, trying to stab it point blank would be a bad idea, especially in an area right next to the outer hull.
I think the AVP FPS games did it too.
I am just loving this game more and more.
Direct all enquiries to Jamie B Good...okay, even if it ends up sucking I'm at least totally convinced they're trying to make something super awesome.
I really want this to be super awesome.

Also gameplay. Guns and flamethrowers.
Not actually very effective guns and flamethrowers.
Or, not very effective against aliens, at least.
EDIT: Challenge Mode.
...What.

I'm guessing that those guys with the blank faces (that don't even react to BEING ON FIRE) are androids? I've never watched (or played) any of the movies or games, just read about them.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Didn't get to play it at E3 but it has massive lines and the buzz was good.
I suspect so.

DLC for the game was just announced.
There's another video going much more in-depth about what this DLC will contain and how it relates to the game. It looks like you may actually play through part of the original film.
With Sigourney Weaver on board, it's a shame they just didn't make Ellen Ripley the main character of the entire game.
So... we're a week from release. This game could go either way at this point. I hope we all learned out lesson from Aliens: Colonial Marines and will be waiting for reviews instead of blindly pre-ordering it. But, from what I've seen the game should be pretty good.
What makes a good man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?I still want to know more about how the game is structured. Is is a fairly linear series of levels, or is the space station more open with room for exploring? Or metroidvania-ish?
What makes a good man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?I'm fairly glad she isn't. I think a fresher perspective where the protagonist isn't in a sort of "dear LORD don't you people LEARN?" mode is good. I love Ripley, she worked REALLY well in all the films (I'm on the fence about that possibly-non-existant fourth film, because that, technically, wasn't Ripley, just something with her face.)
It'll be interesting, because we, the audience, know what the Alien is, what it DOES.
The Character, initially, doesn't. So how they pull that off will be good.
Yeah, it does make sense to have it be about a separate character since they'd have trouble fitting it into the film canon, plus Ripley is such a badass that it could diminish the horror element. (like playing as Arnold Schwarzenegger in a Silent Hill game)
Also, turns out the game is getting a graphics downgrade◊.
What makes a good man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? The Guardian is over the moon about it. I wonder who's responsible for this surge of powerless-protagonist stealth horror, was it Amnesia The Dark Descent?
edit: heh, conversely, IGN and Gamespot both decided to be the negative ones together, for a change.

I think Slender did it first, but Amnesia took it to an artform.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatJim Stirling likes it. He's normally pretty damn hard to please.
Alien Isolation started off rocky, but there was a point when the team got really into it. Roughly about the time their Alien A.I. started scaring the living shit out of them.
