I find that argument kind of questionable. Anyhow, do the wicks attract edit warring and the like? As far as I know, not that much.

When I see it on a page, it's more "people hate or criticize work x for reason y but reason y isn't even true," which is reasonable. An example that comes to mind that I've seen recently was on the Fourty Seven Ronin page, which mentioned the movie had a Hate Dumb of people complaining that Keanu Reeves can't play a biracial character (he's actually of Eurasian descent).
Honestly, I've not really seen problems with Hate Dumb. Certainly fewer than I've seen with Fan Dumb.

I'm recommending a Flame Bait banner for Hate Dumb.
It should not have entries on YMMV pages which are for documenting opinions and subjective items in the work. Hate Dumb is none of those. It's really just an opinion on somebody else's opinion. "people hate or criticize work x for reason y and that's stupid". It's not our place to make judgments on other people's opinions.
