Emphasizing spoilers?

So I was looking at the recap to MLP:FIM season 4 episode 3 before watching it just to get a brief glimpse of the style of the episode, but inadvertently noticed the italicized text giving away a key reveal toward the end of the episode.

Granted, I should be more cautious when reading the recaps to episodes I haven't watched. But is there really any need to emphasize things that are also spoilers? Text that stands out inevitably draws attention even when one doesn't intend to read that far, so if it's not going to be behind spoiler-tags or label-note, a description of a reveal is probably best hidden by blending in like a needle in a haystack.

Not sure what you mean. Recap pages don't get spoiler tags (you're expected to have watched the episode in question), and that one had all of them removed a while ago.

I think he means that we shouldn't italicize or bold any key plot points.

Which I agree with, although I do not understand why anyone would visit a Recap page before watching the episode unless they can't watch it and don't mind being spoiled?

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.

Current episode or past episode spoilers are not to be tagged in Recap pages. You read them at your own risk. Future spoilers should be avoided if possible and tagged if present.

[up][up] I was a bit curious as to the general style of the episode, but not details like that. I'm also catching up on the series after a busy semester.

Again, though, I already mentioned that I should have been more cautious with a recap page. Not tagging spoilers is fair enough, but I still think that spoiling things could be somewhat easily avoided by not using such emphasis as italics for such reveals though.
