I'm kind of surprised that this doesn't have an image yet. Here are some things I pulled from GIS: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]

I strongly disagree with using any imagery of them burning crosses. Personally, I'd be fine with just putting up their logo or no pic.

No pic, varying reasons.

I am fine with any of the OP proposals, albeit with the reservation that I am not familiar with the details to gauge Unfortunate Implications problems.

The best suggestion is 1.5.

I otherwise don't really see a problem with having a pic. If there's a problem with having a pic of them, I'd think having a page on them in the first place is worse.

Or would it be better to have a clearly fictional image?

If needed, I can scan the following Bame pages tomorrow in better quality, or another image from the same Bamse adventure that could be a better fit.

[up] Well, that's a little more of a Klan expy, file it under Fantastic Racism.

This is not UsefulNotes. The Ku Klux Klan, it is The Klan (kind of like Those Wacky Nazis as opposed to UsefulNotes.National Socialism. IMO it is always true that the page image should be from fiction, but it is especially true here.

It is? At least I know where Those Wacky Nazis stand but The Klan? Hm, well given it's just racist guys in hoods as depicted in fiction then it's pretty good but I still think the Fantastic Racism angle stands against it a little.

JPEG, since the PNG version ended up just above 200k. Image code below for reference.

Large 300dpi version (1.8 MB) of the picture in 14, if someone wants to play around with it. Right now, I see two issues with the version I posted:

  • The picture wasn't perfectly aligned in the scanner, so the frames are not perfectly vertical or horizontal
  • Some "dirt" in the colours—the paper in the issue I scanned is more than 10 years old.

I kinda like the comicprint so I wouldn't want to see it go but some cleanup would be good as well as straightening. Outside my limited skillset though.

It's straight enough. Just needs downsizing. And I don't think dirt from the scanned page is much of an issue either.

I disagree this is a page that must be totally imageless, barring admin fiat to that effect... the cartoony animal version is sufficient, although I'd probably translate it to English.

Google Translate tells me "Försvinn härifrån!" means "Get out of here!", but "Där är stinkisarna!" leaves "stinkisarna" untranslated ("There is stinkisarna!"). I'm not sure if that's a character name, or that species of skunk, or what.

There are at least three Swedish speaking tropers in this thread alone (kjnoren, m8e, and myself), so that's not a language that's hard to find translators for. You often will have trouble with online translators, since Swedish joins words together in many cases, and it's relatively open to create new words (like "stinkis", which is a noun formed from the verb "stinka") that are intuitive to native speakers even if they don't exist in any dictionary.

Anyhow, language aside, I approve of the above.

I don't want to be all anti-Swedish, but: We often translate manga into English, and prefer a flipped version. I am sure at least three readers can read Japanese.
