[up]Dark Phoenix Saga, Kurt Buseik's entire Avengers run, Geoff John's JSA run, (up until the relaunch which... let's just say it suffered from near-doubling the cast without bothering to flesh out the new guys before before barreling into his new epic plot,) James Robinson's Starman, Kieth Giffin's JLI, Christopher Priest's Black Panther, Jeff Smith's Captain Marvel: Monster Society of Evil, Watchmen, and... that's about it for now. Roy Thomas' All Star Squadron is an honorable mention for me; I wouldn't consider it a 9.5, but it's still one of my favorite comics for various reasons.

Some of the above as well as: From Hell; Asterios Polyp; Maus; Marvels; All Star Superman; most of Jim Steranko's output; and some of Frank Miller's Daredevil; Claremont and Byrne's Uncanny X-Men; Lee and Ditko's Spider-Man and Grant Morrison's Animal Man.

Special mention to Watchmen though.

Busiek's Avengers run, Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run, the majority of Ultimate Spider-Man, Kingdom Come, Infinite Crisis, Superman: Birthright, Marvels: Eye of the Camera.

The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]

[up]Eh, for me, it's 8.3 out of ten. I just felt that it had a lot of potential, but it needed a lot more pages in order to fully realize that potential; really show more of the struggle between the new, 90's-styled heroes and the old ones, as well as to flesh out anyone that isn't named Super Man, Bat Man, Wonder Woman,or Norman Mc Cay. It was still good, but I just think that it could still have been so much better.

Most of the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby Fantastic Four is great, especially the Galactus Trilogy (and the "sequel" arc of Doom stealing the abilities of the Silver Surfer), which are definitely 9.5 material.

Watchmen, and the Judge Dredd storylines "The Apocalypse War" and "Trifecta" (the latter especially if you read it as originally printed).

Walt Simonson's run on The Mighty Thor. Just about pure gold, all the way through. Hela's curse, Surtur's siege of Asgard, Malekith the Accursed and the Cask of Ancient Winters, Kurse, the Morlock Massacre (yes, Thor was there too...), the Bridge at Gjalerbru, Thor's awesome Asgardian Armour (the original design), Jormungand, Baldur's encounters with the Norns... incredible stuff. Also makes up the biggest TPB I've ever seen tongue

So far, I'm gonna go with Pretty Deadly. I'll also add in Kieron Gillen's run on Journey Into Mystery, which was just astounding work.

The Acme novelty library comics by Chris Ware.

The blot by Tom Neely.

Alberto Breccia's art makes any comic featuring it at least half perfect.

Transmetropolitan, Y The Last Man, Gotham Central, Ed Brubaker's Bucky-Cap books, Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, The Dark Knight Returns, Hitman, and Lucifer. There are many more that I'd rate a 9.

Since we've got the pinned recommendations threads back here, this is redundant. Also, akinson, stop making junk threads if you don't intend to participate.
