Kantai Collection: Moe IJN Battleship Combat

Only have 2 and a half days left to play the event, so decide to abandon Yuu farming and decide to finish the event. E-4 medium cleared. Think I'm going to do E-5 on easy since medium/hard...well, doesn't seem to well.

Also, damn, I thought you'll get Fw190 on medium...turns out it's Bf190...damn.

I finally got Asashimo a few hours ago◊ (after I'd got back home from the company-sponsored account-wide movie night ahaha), so that means I'm free to finish E-3 now. It'll have to be on Medium though, so I can still farm Graf on Easy.

Not that it'd be any easier, but at least Graf's drop rate is pretty much even across difficulties (2.2% ~ish), compared to Asashimo, whose drop rate at node F was practically DOUBLE on Medium compared to Easy (scroll down to 2015秋E:突入！海上輸送作戦). Sheesh.

I wonder if I should complain about not getting Akizuki yet, because I usually get results after that. Then again, I've only made 60 sorties. Haven't had time to do more. Don't think I'll do it much longer, though. I've done a few non-event related quests while waiting for fatigue to go down, and those might pay off better than the event farming. We'll see.

Neat. Also going to "have to" farm Graf in a day or so.

Note "double" the drop rate when on Medium isn't saying much, as it's something like a 5% drop on a normal node, and what's more she shares the same drop pool as several other rare AND normal D Ds.

Well, even a 2% drop rate should've given me a 60%-ish chance of getting the ship I'm aiming for. Which is way too close to a coin flip, since I need at least an 80% chance to get what I want. Or a 5% chance.

So, had something odd happening. Got a dialogue box show up randomly (just after remodelling Chitose), and after that my fleet got uncombined. Any idea what that could've been? Don't exactly read Japanese.

After WHICH remodel though? The Chitose sisters have FIVE remodels.

Played E-5 on easy...got Mikuma from boss, then right when I finished that fight that drain the last of TP bar, Arashi dropped...thanks game, if you were so generous with U-511 drop too I would be so glad.

Still, seems like I can clear the event today. Might have a bit more time to grind E-4 medium a bit more before going out.

AV->CVL. Same didn't happen with her sister. I thought it might've had something to do with that, but it was at return to the main screen, and not immediately after the remodel. Also, she wasn't in any fleet at the time.

Currently in the process of battling RNG-sama on 2-4 with the Zuikaku-led carrier group.

^ Wait, your Chitose-class is in main fleet in a transport combined fleet right? Well yeah if you remodel them into CVL it kinda break the combined fleet rule (you can't have CVL in the transport fleet)...or something?

Also, finally beat E-5 on easy. Got Sakawa as 2nd to last drop. Hiei is last...what an anti-climax it is.

I still wonder if I still should try to grind for Yuu in E-4 or not...

And, wow man, the event's still underway and Kashima has more fanart on Danbooru than Roma, Hayasui and several others already...

Gratulations. If not grind for Yuu, what else do you have to do?

"Also, she wasn't in any fleet at the time." My transport fleet had Mizuho and Suzuya other than the destroyers.

And at this moment, I've got not one, but two brand new prototype flight decks. Time to actually clear E-3 (I'm just not going to get what I want) and get a medal for blueprint so Shoukaku can finally have her kai ni. She's also high enough level to instantly remodel twice.

Unless I want to remodel ABKM instead. Tough choice. Hitting that spot with several potential ships to use blueprints on. Tone's also there, and Yamashiro's almost there.

Yeah, Kashima's very photogenic.

^ Well I'm heading to Europe on Sunday...so yeah. Won't be back until after the event is over. Plus, kinda getting sick of E-4, especially after multiple B>C in a row...E-5 last event is much better grind map than this. The fact that E-4 is combined fleet map means massive resource drain...

Yeah, combined fleets are a pain on resources. At least the transport fleet consists of so many light ships it's not particularly expensive.

What does the "Reversible" in Zuikaku's "Kai Ni A (Reversible)" mean? Is it that this third remodel can be later undone to return her to Kai Ni?

Both Shoukaku and Zuikaku have two Kai-2 forms — a regular carrier form, and an armored carrier form. You can switch between the two if you like, but it costs resources, and resets their stats to base (meaning they don't keep their modernization upgrades).

I haven't double-checked the stats yet, but I think Shoukaku has higher base stats as an Armored carrier kai-2 while Zuikaku has better stats as a regular carrier kai-2.

Anyway for the weekend my itinerary will be filled with farming or Graf. Gonna use Surface Fleet on Easy for a while, so I'll see if I can squeeze as much as I could, so I could tackle E-5 during the weekday next week.

Welp, I got her on the very first sortie I did◊ after I got home from work.

So I guess time to clear this area then. :P

EDIT: A few hours later~

E-4 Medium◊ (so I can farm Arashi on Easy!) Clear. Whew◊. Now I can go to bed. Oh, and I got an extra Yuu◊ from the final clear. Neat.

^ /me rage at you getting Yuu...seriously tho, congrats! I wish I get to do E-4 on hard, however. Want Fw190...and the game just keeps giving me subs that's not Yuu while I was clearing E-4, lol.

Also, uhhh...I think you can drop difficulty 2 level, so even if you beat E-4 hard you can farm E-5 easy...just saying.

What? No, this event follows the same rules that all the previous events had — if you clear a map on a certain difficulty it's locked that way forever. Also it still follows the one-step rule, in that to finish it at Hard, you need to finish the previous map in Medium. No jumps from Easy —> Hard. THAT is my concern.

^ Er, but you say you cleared E-4 on medium...but since you say you want to grind Arashi on easy, and the fact that she only drops on E-5 why should clearing E-4 on medium matters? ...unless you want to try to eventually clear E-5 on Hard that is. That would make sense. And I'm saying the 2 step thing is stepping down, not up. I know that you can only step up 1 level...

That luck... meanwhile, 100 sorties later and still no Zep. At least Yuubari went up 32 levels and Kiso is 99 now

I'm just assuming here but the reason is probably to conserve resources. Clearing E4 on medium is easier than hard and would save up resources better used for well, farming. Also the difference in rewards is just a plane (which you can get from Zep) and more screws

EDIT: And then I get Roma after just 4 runs today... I was just farming for her to finish the 50 transpo quest and now I'm kinda lost in what to do

Also, seriously, after the end-of-year event of 2014, I kind of learned that clearing event maps on Hard THEN farming them is an exercise in wastage. And I'm not exactly swimming in Buckets right now.

And think of this too: E-5 has TWO yasen nodes. In a row. You'd be insane to even try farming the stage on Hard.

So as an experienced hand, I'm doing the sensible thing — setting thing sup where I can both farm the map on Easy first, as well as being able to clear it on Hard. Finishing the previous map on Medium easily makes those objectives possible.
