New episode is on! And I sense Mr Goldenfold will try something on Summer. Ewww.

Edit: Nope. Not part of the story.

I like Jerry's convictions. And Morty's Gigantor toy.

I would visit n33dful.com, but I bet I would pay for it in TROJANS!

This episode was easily, easily the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I think what makes Rick and Morty great is how aware it is of these pre-existing sci-fi storylines and use that to push the expectations of the viewer. It reminds me a lot about the early episodes of The Simpsons where they could be buying paper towels and the episode would end with them discovering a dead body.

I love how Magic Versus Science was employed and how Mr Needful's store was taken to it's Magitek corporate extreme. Rick's realization of how boring owning a business was hilarious. But I think the butter robot's response was what really made the episode stand out- it's like if you had to sum up the show in one exchange, that would be it.

The song at the end always makes me think this.

I love how after only seeing the guy sale one item he could immediately tell he was the Devil. Glad they didn't do the whole "I know I've seen this before, but I don't know where" thing.

A chub from the Grant Corporation
I didn't "get" the ending of this episode, but the rest of it was on fire. Rick creating a parallel curse-removal store was brilliant, and I love how quickly he grew bored with it. In fact, both the A and B plots were pure gold (the awkward conversation between Morty and his dad at the end was perfect). Best running gag: the butter robot having an existential crisis. [lol]

Rick is basically a more sardonic, cynical version of Abed. Abed worked because he could convincingly lean on the fourth wall and point out everything the viewer is already thinking about the story in progress. Rick can do it the same way but for different justifications.

Highlights: -> Robot: What is my purpose?
Rick: You pass the butter
Robot: Oh god.
Rick: Yeah, welcome to the club.

-> Rick: I'm not trying to disparage the differently abled. I'm just stating as a fact that looking into this microscope would have made me mentally retarded.
Morty: I don't think it's about logic, Rick. I think the word has become a power symbol for groups with good intentions.
Rick: Well, that's retarded.

That and when Rick and the devil got into their slap fight.

Does the quote markup not work here?

Oh. I never watched Community, so Rick mainly reminds me of Krusty the Clown.

How is this show so good?

I think I'm actually looking forward to this each week even more than Community.

I want the devil to be this show's Sideshow Bob. It'd be fun to see how he can outsmart Rick and Summer while breaking my emotions even more. [lol]

I'm actually not sure how The Devil can outsmart Rick yet though. evil grin
Mr. Dr.
[up]He can't. As stated, he may be the devil but Rick is the devil.

But given enough time, Rick eventually outsmarts himself. Or he just drinks himself into a stupor.

Nothing can hold Rick's interest long enough, is what this episode proved, not even a rivalry with the devil himself.

Morty holds his interest!

Seriously though, I think he'd probably focus more if he had an actual challenge. Still, that description about all of it just being a bit to him cracked me up. [lol]
Buck it, Dude
Anatomy Park did seem to hold his interest, albeit offscreen.

Awww, Dofus Rick is adorable.

That was a good twist at the end. And it seems like this Rick is the only Rick who truly cares for Morty.

[up][up][up]For a while I thought the Real Killer might have rigged the ionic defibulizer to explode in that episode.

Holy shit at that twist ending. I'm really hoping that element with that rogue Morty develops into something, which knowing this show thus far with regards to continuity, it most likely will. This show continues to surprise me compared to what I was initially expecting.
Glory to EarthState!
The twist was really effective with that music.

I think rogue Morty would work much better as a recurring villain than the devil would.
