Lots of info has been released and man does it look cool. Honestly I think it would be fun screwing with a single Ork for hours.
You look happy, I can change that if you want. This is looking better and better.
I watched a half-hour video of it on Gamestop's Youtube channel, and it still looks good XD I may decide to screw around with the orcs more than I actually do the main plot XD
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I want to love this, but it looks like a slightly-prettier version of every other LOTR game ever.
I hate forums. Especially this one.I'm not sure how you arrived at that conclusion, since I don't remember any other LOTR games with this particular genre or set of features.
3rd Person hack and slash has been done in the LOTR games.
Who watches the watchmen? In the sense that the game is 3rd person and involves combat, then yes, this does look like quite a few other LOTR games. Taking into account the whole game, though, it's rather a different animal.
It is but the commentary is reasonably accurate. It looks better and is comparatively more expansive and interesting then the previous games.
Who watches the watchmen?Have there been that many other LOTR games that one can say this looks like 'every other LOTR game ever'?
Anyway, as far as AC-like gameplay is concerned... AC without Uplay is reason enough for me to check this out.
...Unless it's not on PC, in which case... yeah...
It's on the Pc and according to people that have played it it's more like Arkham then AC.
You look happy, I can change that if you want. That was the sense I got from watching the vid. On the lore front it sounds like it is reasonably well tied to the lore and they did work with the various holders of the Franchises rites and other consultants to build this game.
From what I heard in the interviews about the Wraith it indeed sounds likely that being possessed by it is not a good thing.
Who watches the watchmen?Yeah, he definitely seems like a much more brutal person than what Talion would normally be.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The Wraith is said by the developers that while he has no memory of his identity at first he is a existing character who is important in the lore and is around Sauron's level of power.
You look happy, I can change that if you want. One of the Maiar, huh? Cool.
But isn't Sauron - at least initially, back before Isildur took the ring or before the downfall of Numenor - supposed to be one of the strongest Maiar, period?

I don't know they just said he is on the level of Galadriel, The White Counsel and Sauron. He likely is not as powerful as Sauron but he is strong enough to be a threat.
Plus we already know he is doomed to fail in attempt to defeat Sauron.

You look happy, I can change that if you want.Well the character is wraith that looks suspiciously like a ring wraith. So who was fairly powerful nearly on that level that would become a wraith like that?
Something else I noted was in the interviews they kept mentioning the wraith had designs on Saurons power and wanted to meet his power by raising an army of its own. The revived ranger strikes me as a means to an end.
Who watches the watchmen?Yeah, I imagine the final boss will be Talion fighting the wraith.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.They showed more of the enemy system in the various vids and I liked what I saw. If it works out like it looks like it will this will be a great game. I also liked the rune system for the weapons and that the weapons can get names.
Who watches the watchmen?I think they have names already, actually XD
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Watched an extended "pre screening" of this from IGN I think - It's a bit like assassins creed in that it isn't all one giant map, more very large regions, with different hierarchies in each.
So it won't all be Mordor covered in ash, but the Western edges near the gates that have grass and light, all the way into central Mordor and Mount Doom, with ash and lava etc.
The question, of course, is whether you have to fight the Nazgul themselves... as they are free at this point.
The various options, with the "betray", "assassinate" etc options look good, but it wasn't clear whether you had to go to specific areas to actually observe said action for it to happen, or whether you could just let them crack on. Combat looks good though, with options for environmental advantages - throwing people through fires, tagging people with the bow, using Wargs etc. Hopefully it'll have the combo style of Darksiders mixed with the fluidity of AC.
Lots of human slaves running around, but not much interaction with them (Seen at this point at least) but the ambition for how you personally get nemeses (Nemesi?) and how, if they beat YOU, they get even nastier seems like a nice inverse on the usual "dynamic difficulty" slider.
Oh and people on your friends list can apparently AVENGE YOU by murdering the Orc that killed you (who will appear in their game....) but not sure how that ties the worlds together if every player has a unique Orc relationship tree.
Guesses on an achievement referring to "6 degrees of separation" or something? Likely using an Orc to murder the guy who killed your friend?
I highly doubt we'll fight the Nazgul XD
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.True; in a game like this, they'd stand out too much (Being all unkillable etc)
But it'd be an interesting terror element - a bit akin to Pyramid head in Silent Hill. So, you can go to town on the Orcs etc, but the Wraiths turn up and you have to leg it...
though in an open world game, that would become a tad too "Benny Hill".
I would love to see this "relationship" hierarchy adapted to other games. Imagine a GTA game where you could actually influence a gang by hunting down specific members, turning them etc?! Watchdogs should've had something like this: it'd have been perfect to tie in with the power of hacking and media...
Ah well, what could have been etc etc - Linear stories seem to have this weird relationship with open world games. They always seem shoehorned in. This game looks like it's marrying the two together in some way.
Sounds interesting, although I really would've preferred multiple playable races over a set protagonist.
Well no one else was guarding Mordor >:(
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
This does seem like TROLLFACE the game in a way. But I like that it has good looking combat,a fairly open world AND a world you appear to be able to impact meaningfully (As in your actions directly impact the enemy)
I would have loved it in Just Cause or Mercenaries that the enemy's ability to engage or fight was actually harmed by the damage you dealt; Far Cry 3 had something like it with the outposts: enemies were less likely to appear on patrols as you secured the area.
Wonder if this will mean something similar, but with more depth.
