CaveQuest [Interest Check/Signup]

You stand on the mossy lip of the crevice, staring down into the mouth of the cave. Rivulets of clean water flow down the limestone ledge into the gaping dark. The forest crowds in around you, the cedars retreating into the fog beyond your sight. You've found it! Another entrance to the Deluric cave system! The pit narrows to a short tunnel 30 feet below. You'll have to rappel down, but it definitely looks as if you can make your way inside. Ferns grow lush about your feet, your footsteps crushing their soft stems. With a short phrase you activate a neon-blue glowtorch and drop it into the chasm: 40, 50, 60, 70 feet. It goes down far deeper than you would have imagined. Is this indeed the cave system you were looking for? No matter. You've trekked for 3 days and you can't turn back now.

I'm going to be running a one-shot quest via skype in which you play a spelunker exploring a cave system. You are not the chosen one. Nor are you destined to save the world. You are simply a caving enthusiast enjoying your hobby. Yes, you do need skype if you wish to play. I have 2 or 3 players already lined up, but I'm looking for at least half a dozen. People have conflicting schedules, are on at different times of the day, etc etc, so it is best to have a good number of players.

Now I like to mix horror and fantasy themes, so expect a great deal of that. No science fiction influences in this game, unfortunately. Be aware that this is less an rp and more a quest or choose-your-own-adventure. You won't be able to create your own character, all players will be sharing a single character and giving me commands. That's not to say you won't be able to customize the main character. You can alter their appearance at the very start, write your own dialogue, give me as detailed commands as you want, and get as wacky or dramatic as you desire. I am a permissive GM though I don't allow outright stupidity or gratuitously suicidal choices. I also try to include each player's command in actions, as long as they don't directly oppose each other.

I've run these sorts of Quests before and they have all gone swimmingly. If this one works out, then I plan on expanding it into a full-on rp set here on the forums. For now I only expect this quest to run for a month, perhaps a month-and-a-half. Two at the very most.

Quest types are actually rare around here, and you didn't do this favors by making skype usage obligatory.
