Cool. I like easy to implement suggestions like this. Will do. Have done.

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI don't think the email address should be displayed on the profile by default. There should be a checked option to show or hide it. And I'm pretty sure having (address)@(domain) display in plain text form makes the email susceptible for spam.
That doesn't make any sense. Who would skim addresses to spam from their own profile page? Unless you have spyware on your computer, of course, but then that's the least of your concerns.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm concerned that an email on plain text will be caught by bots unless measures are taken.
... by somehow entering into the TV Tropes database? No, I don't know how anyone could find your e-mail address.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMaybe if you're logged into the account on a network?
Point is that plainly displaying an email is generally a bad idea without further measures.

Seriously, dude. If that's your biggest concern...
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I do think Trivialis has a good point, especially since the site's security, to be blunt, is really bad, very vulnerable, especially due to the fact that the login and settings pages use no encryption whatsoever.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Thanks to Fast Eddie for doing this. (I feel special now. ;-) )
Regarding security concerns: The email address should only display if you're logged in to your own account. So the only person who could steal your address would be yourself. There's no spam threat.
And as far as transmitting email addresses over the network goes, every single email you send or receive does the same thing, so that particular horse left that particular barn a long time ago.
(Granted, SSL would be nice, but I'd worry a lot more about compromised accounts before I worried about revealing email addresses; see above about how email works.)

A suggestion, submitted for your approval.
Two parts:
(1) The "Add Email" page (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/associate_email.php) should be linked to from the user profile page (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/profile.php).
This would be a minor human factors improvement. This is just where I expected to find an option to edit an aspect of my account. I suspect others would, too. Since the left side tools list isn't present on that page, it was confusing. "I know I saw an option for this..."
(2) The email address(es) that has been associated with the account should be displayed on the user profile page.
This would let one confirm their email address has been successfully added. It would also let one check to see *which* email address they used with the site after they've forgotten.
Hope this helps, thanks for all the fish, etc.
