Marshmallows are soft, even after being liquified by nuclear radiation beams and falling 20 storeys. So that guy probably isn't screaming in agony.

Not sure if it would need both images or if one would do. Or if the trope is flexible enough.

That is more like Convection, Schmonvection and not really like Soft Water. Or: more like Square Peg Round Trope than Tropes Are Flexible.

Sort of a combination of the two I guess, but flexibility aside, SW is about the specific and widespread phenomenon of falling into water. Water falling on you might count, but it's not a good illustration.

Water falling on you doesn't have nearly the same force as water you fall into. And it kind of looks like some kind of foamy substance, which is even lighter. So I'm not sure it's the trope, and it doesn't illustrate.

I am not sure at what I am looking in these pics.

This doesn't illustrate, or even allude to the trope at all. It's not even water! Thumb down.

The article is pretty long, maybe this picture from Looney Tunes could work.

I was looking for a high-dive into a tub pic. Has my support.

The extra panel afterward looks really awkward. I think we could leave it to the imagination.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

OK, with or without the extra panel (will need a caption in the latter case).

That is 350 px × 1239 px. Way too big. It would have a bigger area than any other image on this web site; Star Scraper is the only one that even comes close, and that article is about tall buildings, its dimensions are a deliberate joke. I sympathize with wanting to make the diving board and Bugs easy to "read", but I think they are, even much smaller than that.

Here it is at "double tall" (700):

Now that I think about it, it looks like Not the Fall That Kills You… to me.

[up][up][up]Huh, didn't notice until now that "[[quoteright]]" allows an image to bypass "----" lines, but when it's absent it starts after the image.

12 works.

[up][up]Not the Fall That Kills You… claims this is a subtrope of that.

A 700-pixel-tall pic is still a bit much, but yeah, 12+13 is a good combination.

That is both SW and NTFTKY. A pothole to the latter, from the caption, would be cool. Delicious cross-wicks.

I've gone ahead and put up 12+13 with the caption potholed to Not the Fall That Kills You… and the page is tagged. Locking up.
