Either that or they just severely cut back the animation when they found out
- a) how much a feature film would cost
- b) how much effort a feature film would require
...take your pick from either or both of the above two...

The turkeys also talk and can time travel. That the first Thanksgiving didn't have turkey doesn't matter one bit.
But wouldn't it have been interesting if the turkeys had been given a rude awakening about that fact and had to change their plans?

No. Why would they? I can think of a bunch more hilarious things that would happen when they stick with the idea of turkeys being eaten on the first Thanksgiving.

The writers pitched this film early in production comparing it to a "CG Looney Tunes-humor animated movie", which figures considering Reel FX produced the CG Looney Tunes shorts for theaters. ..... judging from the previews, it looks like they got their B group on this because the animation in the Looney Tunes shorts look WAY better!
