The world premiere of Song of the Sea will be September 6th at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
September 6th?
Huh, I was kinda expecting it to be on October-December of this year. But it looks like it's coming earlier than that.
Well, I'm not complaining.
Looks like the real theatrical release will start on December 19th, at the IFC in New York City, with other major cities following. I'll be ready!
Bump.
So, if anyone remembers the live stream from a while back, there was some mention of someone named "Macha" (who's probably the lady with the owls).
Just now, I decided to look up "Macha" and I found this.
TL;DR she's basically an Irish goddess associated with war.
I don't know about you guys, but I think we found our bad guy for this movie.
Was that the old lady in the dark room we saw in the concept art?
I think so. Not entirely sure though. I just remember that there's an old lady who isn't Granny and has a bunch of owls hanging around her. And so far, they've said zilch about her.
But if what I'm assuming is true, then this shot from way back last year◊ could end up in the Harsher in Hindsight or Foreshadowing departments.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I don't suppose you can show me what you're talking about?

I can't find the image unfortunately. I think it was on the Cartoon Saloon livestream that's not on their Youtube channel anymore.
I'm happy to see this movie getting positive reviews.
Also the movie is 93 minutes long; the length of an average animated film.

Yeah, I was wondering if I was gonna have to double-post (again) to tell everyone that critics are liking the movie.
But yeah, everyone! I guess it's safe to, as one of Titanfall's critics has said, "Believe the hype!"

I've been gradually seeing updates about the reviews, mostly from people who saw it at TIFF. Now we'll have to sit back and wait to see if the hype translates into nominations at the Annies or *gasp* the Academy Awards.
Bump.
Found this recently (careful, it's in French):
That video is private.
Huh.
That's weird.
It wasn't private when I found it.

Rats, it's telling me the same thing.
What was in the video? New footage or anything?
Eh, it was basically a clip of the scene where Saoirse swims with the seals while someone (I guess the French voice of Bronagh) sings the French version of the song that was playing in the second teaser for the movie.
Hey, the first review blurb showed up on Rotten Tomatoes, and it's a positive one!
Look what I found last night!
It's the video that went private for some reason! (Reminder: it's in French.)
Thanks for reposting that; very pretty!
Human>>animal>>human transformation has been a thing since forever, hasn't it?

Just waned to make an observation on something that dawned on me just now. I have no doubt a story like this was told to some kid a few thousand years ago.
My angry rant blog!Holy sea cow, Batman! Look what I found! note
I only watched 50 seconds, so I'm alright.
My angry rant blog!Ooooooooo-er, I've been waiting on pins and needles for new footage to show up on the net, so I definitely got my wish!
Well, I hope you're still hungry, because guess what I found just last night!
In English! note
