TV anime ? I also watch it when it aired. If i remember correctly, it also had movie version in Japan.

Rereading the novels to compare it to the anime.
It seems almost close, except that Iku's male siblings aren't mentioned.
The third volume seems to suggest that Dojo wasn't sent to the hospital. Rather, it's someone else.

- The Viz translation doesn’t mention federal government at all.
One difference is the aftermath of Dojo making an apology is from a different incident.

I just started checking out this series; it had an interesting synopsis.
The idea is that Japanese government has passed censorship laws that allow the national authority (the manga I have said federal government for some reason) to confiscate books. But at the same time, the Library Freedom Act permits local authorities to basically form library militia forces to protect the collections. Iku Kasahara is part of the latter, enlisting in the Library Defense Force. There's some action (battles between the library forces and the "Media Betterment Committee" on the national side) as well as some romance, it seems.
