Tranquility - Leader Arrival Area
"Why of course, it is always such a pleasure to see you, Ambassador Koruuna my dear," Zemarius replied to the Ashkathi with a quick bow. It was a somewhat awkward motion, but diplomacy required such things to avoid coming off as cold. For xer part, Lisfinniarareran grunted softly in acknowledgement.

Zemarius turned his head back to Vei. "Yes, forgive me, straight to business it seems then. I cannot help but notice that as it stands, the Rhizon simply do not trade with the rest of the galaxy to any great extent," he said. "But with the right trade partners, soon you could be selling your goods across the known galaxy - and beyond."

Tranquility - Leader Arrival Area
Rufus stood at rapt attention as the procession progressed, eventually turning around when the heads of state were gone. She slowly hopped away, stopping when she approached near Azunn.

"Greetings, Representative Azunn," she said directly into his translator unit to avoid eavedropping. It was percieved by some to be unsettling how a Norb's mouth did not actually move to form words when they spoke, but it did at least confer a bit of grace to be able to hold one's posture while talking. "I believe the Sirian Union is heartfelt in its offer to provide protection for Tranquility. The Norb likewise offer our services to protect the station. However, it appears that both the Verandi and Izeran Empires have sent in their heads of state. It is likely that by directly appealing to leadership rather than representation, they will attempt to amass the votes required to pass their proposals. I hope that despite these challenges, we will be able to work together in order to provide more efficient and logically assembled protection for the Galactic Nations."

Choco Coliseum
"If you are asking figureatively, then we achieved a great victory today," Bobby replied. "The audience was enthralled by our performance, and this will surely be recorded in the history of the Chocolate Combat Coliseum as one of the greatest games ever played."

He paused for a moment. "If you are asking literally, then no."

Tranquility, Leader Arrival Area — Azunn

Azunn caught Osma out of the corner of his eye as she left. The delicate white mask had caught his attention. He wondered if it held any special significance in Savages culture. He wasn't too curious about where she had gone; he assumed that she had been going to the convention. And speaking of the convention, he really had to be going...

It was then that Rufus hopped up to him. Azunn had by necessity become used to the quirks of the various species that made up the galaxy. It wouldn't do for a high ranking ambassador of the Sirian Union to be perturbed by something as minor as another representative's lips failing to move. He did much the same as Rufus and leaned in to speak into her translator unit. "Both I and the Sirian Union appreciate your show of support. I believe that if we cooperate, then we can deliver truly effective protection not just for Tranquility, but Earth as well if need be."

Filanticu — With Maros and Rosemary

Rosemary raised an eyebrow and glanced over at Maros. She was under the impression that Ashkathi in general preferred seafood. "Popcorn?" she asked, inquisitively. Maros sighed in exasperation.

"Long story, I'll tell you later," he murmured, looking rather embarassed for an an Ashkathi. Rosemary smiled.

"Okay!" she cheerfully replied. She then turned back towards Arij. As Arij listed off the crew members' favorite foods, Rosemary pulled out her datapad and began inputting them for later. When she mentioned the Doc, she glanced up again. "Where is the Doctor from?" she asked. Maros looked at her.

"Doctor Togwôran is a Czipnid from the Bolaemian Bureaucracy," Maros answered. Rosemary frowned.

"Oh dear, I don't think I've ever cooked for a Czipnid before," Rosemary murmured. She smiled. "Then again, I haven't cooked for an Ashkathi either!" she giggled. She then did a sort of half-salute. "Sounds like a plan! Permission to get right on that, then!"

Tranquility — With Koruuna and Rhizon Vei

Koruuna stood up once more, looking friendly towards the two Kuhneebo. Rhizon Vei was not so hospitable. She simply tilted her head, keeping her stone-faced expression.

"What sort of business deal did you have in mind, Mr. Zemarius?" Rhizon Vei asked the Kuhneebo ambassador. "What sort of goods would We have need of from your Kuhneebo Collective?"

Koruuna didn't speak up quite yet. She had considered negotiating trade between the Ashkathi Union and the Kuhneebo Conglomerate, but every time she had voiced the possibility previously to the Conglomerate, it had been considered not profitable.

Tranquility - Leader Arrival Area
"Nothing, Vei my dear. Nothing at all," Zemarius said with a jovial tone. "As far as I am aware, the Rhizon have all of their physical needs met already, save for the odd spaceship every now and then. But I did not come here to offer you goods. I came to offer services." He cleared his throat. As if in response, Lisfinniarareran opened up the briefcase in xer hands, and pulled out a piece of paper which xe held out in Vei's general direction. On it was a printed image of the known galaxy.

"The arks of the Conglomerate traverse the entire galaxy, regularly and efficiently," he said. "And, excluding a few nations along the outskirts, they are all populated by organic lifeforms. Carbon-based. These lifeforms all need to eat, need to drink, need to breathe, need to enjoy their lives, and most importantly, they need to do it without turning their planets into coal and atmospheres into ash in the process."

Lisfinniarareran nodded xer head in support. "Now, unless I am quite mistaken, it is my understanding that the Rhizon have remarkably advanced biotechnology at their disposal. For a forward-thinking galaxy, biotechnological products are the ultimate method of sustaining their populations, and the demand will only stand to increase. Your nation is in a unique position in the galaxy, and can stand to profit immensely from selling its biological marvels to the rest of the galaxy - the universe. But to do so, you need a reliable transportation infrastructure, business contracts, marketers, accountants, and representatives spread out across every plant. That is where the Conglomerate stands to help you."

He held one of his arms outstretched towards Koruuna, opening the palm upwards. "Why, Lady Koruuna for instance," he commented. "You and your people are very responsible, and take the utmost care in protecting the environments of your planets and their natural habitats. But alas, as is the way with modern technology, there are inescapable realities that come with providing for the needs of billions of people. At least, as far as conventional technology goes. I imagine you would be quite interested in obtaining more sustainable and ecologically-responsible alternatives, would you not?"

Tranquility - (Also the) Leader Arrival Area
"That would be optimal," Rufus agreed. "The current political situation fosters a fierce sense of competition between certain nations, which I unfortunately do not see a probable short-term solution for. It is only by encouraging cooperation and preventing attempts to game the system that will allow for future generations to be raised in a more harmonious galaxy."

Tranquility, Leader Arrival Area — Azunn

"Indeed," said Azunn. "Although my nation is perhaps most well known for its martial achievements, we too seek a peaceful galaxy for all. Unfortunately, in the current political climate it seems impossible to do so without guaranteeing our security first. Doubtless other national leaders have similar thoughts."

"This can lead to others misinterpreting Sirian intentions, and..." Azunn shrugged helplessly. "I am sure you're familiar with the concept of a 'security dilemma'. Regardless, I feel both of our nations are well placed to protect Tranquility, not least because we have no vested interest in this area. I look forward to assisting the Norb Network in building a safer, more prosperous galaxy for all of us." He smiled warmly.

Tranquility — With Koruuna and Rhizon Vei

Rhizon Vei crossed her arms, looking rather incensed at the two Kuhneebo standing before her. Koruuna looked over at Vei curiously.

"How dare you suggest such a thing...." Vei stated, a tinge of anger seeping into her normally emotionless voice. "We are not to be used as the playthings of Others. We are Rhizon, not simple tools for the use of others. This one is insulted that you would make such a bold suggestion..." Koruuna walked between Vei and the two Kuhneebo.

"Forgive Ms. Vei," Koruuna suddenly stated, sounding rather unsure of herself. "She can be... a bit quick to anger..." she muttered to herself. She then looked at Zemarius. "I think it sounds like a wonderful idea..."

"It is not a wonderful idea," Vei sighed, letting her voice return to a monotone level again.

Tranquility - Leader Arrival Area
Zemarius only grinned as Lisfinniarareran turned slightly so that the tiny male could still face Rhizon Vei. "Is that so?" he asked. "Tell me then, aside from what you are not, what are the Rhizon? Such a young nation, isolated in a remote corner of the galaxy, at the mercy of the Verandi for your continued existence? Would you not rather prefer to change your station, to expand your reach to the stars beyond your home systems, to become a valued member of the galaxy? How would you plan on going about obtaining that respect? Showing your strength in war only causes the galaxy to view you as a threat, and war is never the best solution, wouldn't you agree Ambassador Koruuna?"

His question, being rhetorical, was followed only by more words rather than a pause. "You can tell me otherwise, but as history has proven time and time again, what the universe respects most is trade. Only by trade can cultures truly come in contact with each other - to exchange their knowledge and ideas, to learn how valuable they are to each other. The Collective has an opportunity to do good in the galaxy... to be hailed as a champion of environmental excellence, to gain the friendship of nations far and wide, and make its presence known as one to be respected. But so long as you lurk in your sectors and avoid attempting to take a greater investment in the galaxy at large, then those opportunities are squandered, and none are aware of the impact you can have."

Tranquility — With Koruuna and Rhizon Vei

As Koruuna nodded in approval at Zemarius' explanation, Rhizon Vei fumed silently for a moment. "Rhizon are. We dominate Our lands, to protect them from those that would see harm to Us, to use Us or to control Us. If We were to adopt your strategy, the galaxy would see Our children as tools to be used or controlled. We would be under the thumb of the entire galaxy. Our purpose would be to... to serve the Others! We refuse to be controlled by.... by flesh-beings! We, of the Mother Root, are the arms of her... Our will! She is.... We are above your Others! No one controls Us! We...." She closed her eyes, losing the words in a fit of livid anger (though it was hard to tell by how monotone she was).

Koruuna approached Vei carefully. "Are you all right, Ms. Vei?" she asked. Rhizon Vei composed herself.

"This one is... fine," Vei muttered, looking very far from fine. "It must... it must return to the embassy. It must receive Our instructions. The Link weakens." And with that, she stormed off in the direction of the Rhizon embassy. Koruuna glanced back over at the two Kuhneebo diplomats who had witnessed that outburst.

"I apologize for that," Koruuna said. "I just..." She trilled, not looking too happy with herself. "Sometimes Rhizon Vei is incorrigible. The Rhizon see themselves as above everyone else, but.... all are equal." She then tried to perk up, but it was fairly obvious despite her lack of facial features that she was not as happy as she was trying to seem. "So is there anything that you wished to try and sell to me, Mr. Zemarius?"

Tranquility Convention Hall — With Tac

Tac Manaress, the Sarken Hegemony ambassador, was among the crowd of fans in the convention hall. He was very easy to pick out of the crowd for multiple reasons— first off, he was flanked by two angry-looking kakkons, who did not seem happy to be dragged to the convention hall. Secondly, he was riding a bulky mechanical walker that made loud stomping and whirring sounds as it moved, not that it was noticeable in the clamor of the convention hall. Thirdly, and this was the most important part— Tac Manaress was the only raijalresh in the entire convention hall.

His walker was adorned with multiple examples of Colossal Nisi memorabilia— posters, stickers, scripts, books, even a couple of action figures. His kakkon bodyguards were carrying a couple of examples of merchandise themselves. Tac, currently, was waiting in line to talk to Kattingu Redscreamer in order to get her autograph. As the two kakkons were keeping other fans from getting too close to Tac, Tac simply looked around in different directions with his two stalk eyes, taking in all of the sights.

Space station Tranquility, convention hall

There was a commotion back near the entrance of the hall as the Honorskulls entered; Byss' family, primary her sister and cousin, prevented fans from simply mobbing her, but she did start to interact and mingle. Which, nisi being nisi, mostly meant declining duel challenges from overeager family matriarchs. "No, sorry we can't do that here; it would make the humans who run the station panic. An autograph? Sure. No I don't have time to take it outside with space fighters." Byss had to admit that it did make the current circumstances a bit more convenient for her, but couldn't help but feel like it just wasn't right; it just wasn't properly nisi.

One of the convention organizers ran over, waving her hand to get the Honorskulls' attention. "Miss Honorskull, you're due on stage with the Redscreamers in about fifteen minutes" she reminded them.

"We'll be there; plenty of time for some more mingling" Byss responded, then regarded an odd figurine that was supposed to be her character that a human fan asked her to autograph. Byss couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the artistic interpretation the makers had given the figurine, particularly in regards to her endowment. I suppose there's fans of all kinds she thought to herself as she put her signature on the box and handed it back.

[Tranquility - Royal GN Car]

Oh, Goddess, it was dreadful, Amy! You have no idea. At one point a light went out in the quarters I was using and I had to wait a whole Standard Hour before someone came to fix it! I mean, the one light going out hadn't really affected me or anything I was doing in any meaningful way, but really, just on principle, someone should have been there to fix it immediately! It is the Royal Izeran Space Force, after all, and that means it belongs to me! It was then that I decided to disband the whole thing and reorganize it into an organization of elite line dancers. Or maybe strippers. Either way, I'm going to make them all fight to the death for my amusement. That'll teach them to not assign a Royal Foot Masseur on every ship. Tanis thought to herself, rather sarcastically. She might have shared the joke with Amelia, but in the company of the ambassadors, it would not have been appropriate.

"Eventful? No, I'm afraid not." She said, as a pleasant smile crossed her face. "It was all quite routine, really."

Filanticu - Maros and Rosemary

"Yeah, sure! I gotta scramble up the supplies anyway." Arij said. "Might as well get that out of the way sooner rather than later. Else the rest of this bunch will mutiny when there's no fruscis tomorrow."

Arij motioned for the others to follow. "Come on, you can pick out whatever else you need that's not on the list at the depot."

The young zehir led her crew mates away from the main attractions of the convention, passing Erruan and Rrivel. The Rakashan noticed and nudged his fellow security officer with his foot, pointing at their charges who were leaving their line of sight.

Arij went in the same direction Solaris had gone up to a point. But where the captain had followed the path towards the eateries for incoming cargo ship crews, Arij hopped from one glowing stone to the next on a street heading for a district more geared towards the practical matters of living aboard a space craft. Large warehouses filled with bulk necessities like soap, clothes, and robot parts stood ahead, along with smaller specialty stores, among them places that sold certain food items such as spices and candies and -

"Sodas?" Arij reread the latest edition to her manifest, which had just been sent from the captain. "Sodas for the vending machine? I don't think we have enough money for -"

A new message popped up.

"Here's the money from the vending machine." Arih read aloud. "Uh, okay then! So!" she turned to the rest of the group. "Anything specific you wanna get before we move on to the big stuff?"

Maros and Rosemary began to follow Arij. "Well, where do you think we could purchase cooking ingredients?" Rosemary asked. "If I'm gonna be cooking for your ship, we're gonna need a lot of food," she pointed out. Maros glanced over at her.

"I am surprised that you decided to get a job on our ship and didn't have all your ingredients ready," said Maros. Rosemary looked embarassed.

"Well, I did have them, but they sorta... got trampled during the chocolate cow stampede," she admitted. Maros nodded sagely.

"Very well then, you can't change that. It looks like we have a lot of shopping to do then..." Maros murmured.

Tranquility Convention Hall — With Tac

Tac turned one of his eyestalks as he saw someone enter. She LOOKED like Byss Honorskull. In fact, it was! Certainly she looked much different than the actress that played her. He would have to get in line to get her autograph soon, but in the meantime, he was coming up to the front of Redscreamer's line. With one of his mechanical arms on his walker, he moved a small book up towards Kattingu.

"Ms. Redscreamer, I am Tac Manaress, ambassador from the Sarken Hegemony. I'm a big fan of your work. Do you mind if I could get an autograph?" he asked. The book he held up was an original script from Terror of the Colossal Nisi.

Tranquility - Leader Arrival Area
"It will be my pleasure, please right this way," Rufus said as she hopped away from the area.

Sushi Goat was a relatively large restaurant, as far as restaurants on Tranquility went. It was decorated in the manner of traditional Japanese establishments and the restaurant boasted several master sushi chefs, several of whom could be seen behind a transparent partition. Replica samurai armor and swords were all mounted around the area, although they were machine blunted to pose no threat while still looking authentic. As an extra precaution they were welded to their mounts, much to the dismay of many of the children of dignitaries who had attempted to sword fight over the years.

All around the restaurant, several Norb goats slowly made their way through the aisles and near every table. On their backs, each goat had a specially-mounted tray with several plates with various types of sushi or other entrees, while invisible lids provided a sanitary barrier between the food and the patrons. Much like a sushi boat, customers were taking plates off of the goats and placing them at their tables. When out of items, the goat would return to the kitchen to resupply. Doing away with hygiene issues, each goat was exquisitely groomed, trimmed, and lightly perfumed. The rest of the wait staff were mainly humans, which was unsurprising due to its location in the Sol System.

"Ah, señora Rufus, señor Azunn, welcome welcome, we have your table waiting," the head waiter said with a bow as soon as the pair were in sight. He indicated a special table towards the center of the restaurant where a pair of waitresses had two seats waiting.

Filanticu — Erruan

"You keep an eye on the crew here," said Erruan to Rrivel. "I'm going to make sure they're not going to get themselves in trouble... we've already had enough to last a lifetime. "

True to her word, Erruan left the chocolate cow pens behind and began to shadow Arij, Rosemary, and Maros. She elected to keep her distance because her presence would only be a distraction (that and a bodyguard hanging around too closely would scream 'I am very important, please kidnap me').

Sushi Goat — Azunn

Azunn had not had an opportunity to visit Sushi Goat before, but what he saw left a favourable impression. It was competitive with many of the more upmarket restaurants he had visited - and miles ahead of some of the more unsavoury places that the sirian had dined in. Even though the use of goats (even Norb goats) was unconventional, it certainly made for a unique selling point!

"I greatly appreciate the gesture." The Sirian ambassador reciprocated the head waiter's bow. When he reached the table, he let Rufus sit down first as a show of respect and politeness.

Space station Tranquility, convention hall

To most non-nisi, Kattingu Redscreamer was definitely 'close enough' to Byss Honorskull in appearance; it had been one of the leading factors to her being hired for the role. Like Byss, she bore a pure black coat of fur along with black hair that was currently done in the identical style as Byss'. Her build and height were a bit different; she stood a tad shorter than Byss and wasn't as built for physical activity as Byss was, though those differences were fairly minute under anything less than high scrutiny. The biggest visible difference was her eyes; her eyes being a dull teal as opposed to Byss' yellow eyes. (In the film they'd changed her eye color with special effects or sometimes through the supremely advanced technology of colored contacts.) The big difference maker, even among nisi, was typically the ears, but Kattingu's ears were completely obscured under her hat; this was atypical of nisi hats, which usually had some sort of holes for the ears to poke through, like Byss' did. Otherwise their hats were fairly similar, save for Kattingu's having a golden sirian skull emblem on it. Her outfit was also more or less the same, just with added golden embroidery and superfluous spikes, mostly around the shoulders and on the sides of her sleeves and pants.

Kattingu smiled as Tac introduced himself. "An ambassador? It is an honor that we warrant attention away from your duties" Kattingu responded, taking the script and pausing as she looked at the cover, realizing what it was. Out of curiosity, she opened it and started skimming through the pages near the end, looking for something in particular; the other nisi with her, and older woman with dual black and white colored fur in a fairly fancy golden dress leaned over to look as well. "This really is a copy of the original. Look mother, it even still has that awful ending they were going to give it" Kattingu said to the other nisi, and they both started laughing a bit. She turned back to the first page to sign the inside of the cover, then handed it back to Kattingu, with only a final comment of, "it must have been incredibly expensive."

Tranquility Convention Center — With Tac Manaress

Tac looked a little disheartened at how Kattingu and the other nisi began to laugh uproariously at the script he had brought in. When Kattingu handed back the script, Tac lowered his eye-stalks for a moment as a sort of "bow".

"Thank you, Miss Redscreamer. It was. I paid 400 kallen for it over the Galkerbaht market for it, but I feel I really got my money's worth off of it. At any rate, take care," he told her, turning and exiting the line to go see the 'real' Byss Honorskull.

He could go up to speak to her, but he realized that he really didn't have time to do this. He had only intended to be at the convention for only an hour or two and he had spent about three or four hours instead.

"Thank you," Rufus said as she seated herself. Or as close to a sitting position her body could accommodate, as the waitress adjusted the seat for her. Rufus sent her off with a quick word of thanks.

"You are too kind, Ambassador Azunn, it is only the displaying of a level of respect deserved of an ambassador on this station." As she spoke, a waiter came by with two glasses of water. Fortunately, as it was a Norb-designed restaurant, this table was equipped with the technology required to manipulate the weights of the glasses and other such adjustments, meaning that the kangaroo ambassador would look quite "normal" while dining.

Filanticu - Diner

“Going to jail wasn’t part of the plan.”

Memories of the last time Solaris ended up in jail with a group of naked people flashed through her mind and she suppressed a shudder. At least she had been dressed throughout the ordeal this time.

“I suppose ‘Jails around the Galaxy’ is not on any travel ads.” Solaris said.

Their food arrived on plates carried by a small hovering robot. Solaris frowned at the mechanical service, her Verandi sensibilities disproving of being waited on by something not flesh and blood. She pulled her plate closer to herself without a word of thanks. Not that the non-sentient servingbot needed it, but it was a point of mild contempt Solaris made to herself.

“Now, about your pay –”

“Solaris? Solaris Veila is that you?” The sing-song voice that phrased the question came with a tone that implied its owner already knew the answer. And judging from the oaths she was muttering under her breath, Solaris already knew who that owner was.

The captain stood up and turned to face this new face. A human woman, shorter than Solaris, but with a more voluptuous build. Skin-wise Solaris was the darker of the two, but the woman’s wavy, bright and blonde hair contrasted with Solaris’ pale and straight locks. Her most noticeable feature, however, was a white patch she wore over one eye. Solaris made a slight bow in greetings and the woman did likewise.

"Hello, Natasha Esmeraldas." She said with politeness so fake a Norb would have remarked on it. "Fancy meeting you here."

"Oh, I know! What are the odds! I'd have thought you would have limped back home after what happened on your way to Earth!"

"I managed." was all Solaris said.

"And who are your friends?" Esmeraldas leaned sideways to look at the nisi and kongo. "Employers? Sure are reaching low these days."

"These are my newest crew members!" Solaris said with pride that she hoped did not sound fake this time. "Captain Esmeraldas, allow me to introduce my most capable companions..."

There was a long pause after Solaris' voice trailed away. Mother of God, I forgot their names!

Without taking her eyes off the other captain, Solaris motioned for Jenny and Ligia to introduce themselves.

Rakashan Restaurant, Filanticu, Free Minds Society
Jenny blinked her ears for a split-second, a bit confused since she had only met Solaris that day, and most certainly wasn't a member of the crew. But she mulled over what she had heard, and the falseness in the captain's voice, which she guessed bordered on desperation, meant that she wanted her to play along.

"Greetings, I'm the Captain's... head of..." she scrambled in her mind for a moment. What sort of things were believable. Legal department? No, that was too boring. Accounting? Humans didn't find numbers very sexy as far as she knew. And she couldn't mention any positions related to the production of textiles if she was a trader. Then it hit her. Perfect. "...Person Resources! Jeona'first'Ceara'second'first'Malyxa'fifth'third'Isovaha'eighth'Tajima'Aux Sedonis'Behemoth'Annairbdnah - but for some reason humans prefer to call me Jenny, even though I already went through the trouble of translating my name and making it so easy to pronounce."

She did a traditional Kongolese squatting bow - making yourself slightly shorter as a sign of respect, but keeping your ears wide open to symbolize that you won't be surprised by a spear being thrown at your heart in an attempt to steal your things.

"Of course, I hardly know a thing about you, Mistress Esmeraldas," she added, her voice having a slight smugness hidden in it. "The captain's never mentioned you."

Sushi Goat — Azunn

Azunn thanked the waiter as they gave him a glass of water. Returning his attention to Rufus, he said, "That might be so, but it would be remiss of me not to show my appreciation." He took a sip of the water before continuing. "But enough about that. We were going to continue our discussion, were we not?"

Filanticu, Rakashan diner

Ligia didn't care about the waiter being a robot or a person, only that it had brought food which she was now happily chowing on. Without utensils. She heard, though didn't really pay attention, as some other human came up and started talking to the captain, then Jenny went about introducing her name for about the next half hour.

Only when Jenny was somewhere near the end of her freight train of a name did Ligia actually look up and see that Solaris was indicating Ligia as well for introductions. Exaggerations aside, as Jenny was putting forth her own question Ligia was using her claws to scrape a bit more meat off the bone from her meal, then finally introduced herself. "Ligia Brightlight. Tinkerer" Ligia said, then popped the bit of meat into her mouth before asking, "how human lose eye? Too slow?"

Like most nisi, Ligia possessed all the tact of a brick to the face.
