There are several "mirror wikis" out there. If you want to know the whys and wherefores of one, the best place to ask is on that site. They are completely separate from this wiki.

The Second Google Incident resulted in some pages being cut. Those pages however still exist on the Mirror Wiki.
The Mirror Wiki has a beef with this site due to supposedly strict rules laid upon the community by the admins. That and the page cuts.
I wonder when did this Mirror Wiki began? Was it before or after the Google troubles?
