The name is too broad and too specific at the same time. This trope happens a lot with rooves, as well. A better name would be Jumping As A Last Resort, or Jumping Escape, or something like that.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I think this could work as a subtrope, but the lack of wicks is concerning.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOff Bridge, onto Vehicle could work as a name. And I think this is distinct enough to be worth keeping as a subtrope of No Escape but Down given the added twist of landing on a vehicle.

I agree with pretty much everything Star Sword said. It's definitely distinct enough to be a subtrope, and his suggested name is better than anything I've come up with so far.

Hop on over to this page and add them. From playing Guess That Trope, I thought it was like those threats I make a lot, often in jest ("Why don't you stuff your nose with fire ants and jump into a canyon?" "Why don't you choke on crayons and throw yourself off the Taipei 101?") This is a trope I see a lot of times, but never bothered to find. Support renaming.
That works.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!@6 makes sense to me. Crowner for a rename.

This may have been launched somewhat prematurely, with only five replies and the last one saying Needs More Examples, but that was back in January 2011. I thought this was a renamed "Jump Off a Bridge" Rebuttal to be honest.

I'll do some crosswicking on this after it's renamed.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt looks pretty unanimous, hollering for this to be called
I'mma go ahead and call this one for renaming.

Alternative Titles crowner. One of the variations listed says it can be off anything and not just a bridge, making it redundant with No Escape but Down.
New crowner's hooked and the title's adjusted.
Bump.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanJust like to raise the question of Missing Supertrope Syndrome:
Do we really have a trope for jumping onto a moving vehicle from a bridge, but not for simply jumping onto a moving vehicle?
The much more stereotypical use of that trope, I would have thought, would be the endlessly-parodied Speed-esque "jumping from one vehicle to another" scene, which wouldn't be covered by the overly-specific definition we seem to be working with here.
EDIT: Ignore, I misunderstood what he was talking about.
EDIT 2: What the guy above me is talking about could also sometimes be the supertrope to High-Speed Hijack.

^^We don't have it, as far as I know.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanA last votes bump, since it's only 13 votes:
- Off Bridge, onto Vehicle: 11-2 yea/nay.
- Overpass Escape: 6-5 yea/nay.
All else in red.
The only supertrope we have is No Escape but Down.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCalling this one for Off Bridge, onto Vehicle.
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
For such a ubiquitous action trope, this is not thriving. 12 wicks, not a great deal of examples on the page.
In case it's not clear from the title (which sounds like either "Jump Off a Bridge" Rebuttal or suicide attempt), it's that classic escape trope where you leap off an overpass onto a moving car/train below and make your escape on top of it. I think a clearer name is in order. This is much more prevalent than the page indicates.
