Many, many years after the brutal wars between the Helic Republic, and the Guylos Empire, there is a kind of peace on the planet Zi - The giant mecha known as Zoids still abound, and, as such, humans still use them as tools of destruction.

Even if they are just fighting for sport, away from any innocent bystanders.

Still, not all cities welcomed the ZBC's (Zoid Battle Commission) answer to the violence that has surrounded the mechanical beasts for centuries: One such city is Coronet.

Walled and isolated from outsiders, the few Zoids inside the city are used merely as transportation - As the ancients would have used outdated vehicles such as cars and lorries.

Of course, there are always some people who want to defy convention - Who want to bend the rules in the utopian city that is Coronet - Budding Zoid pilots who illegally modify their machines, and battle it out on the streets after the nighttime curfew is in place. After all, what's the use of a curfew on weekdays if there aren't people out to enjoy it!?

And, as there always is with these things, you get those who want to ruin it for everyone else - Although the group goes by no specific name, they are nicknamed 'Crushers', as whenever they win in a fight, the seem to delight in squashing the losing pilot. These people have, of course, attracted police attention to the once-mostly-bloodless sport, and their influence has seemed to make everyone more jumpy. More violent. More prone to 'permanently silencing' those who might go to the authorities.

There is reward to the risk, however - There's a massive reward offered (by a foreign billionaire) for the person left standing after the carnage has subsided, although it hardly looks like it'll stop any time soon...

Looks like it's time to grit your teeth, and weather the storm!

So then. A Zoids RP, Huh? Well, I attempted to design this as a big Pv P type thing - So, expect characters to die. In fact, expect some plot factors that increase the body count. Because I'm so lovely like that.

In any case, Allow I should explain the setting a little more: In short, Coronet City is a big ass walled place. People can come and go, of course, but the point is mainly to keep what's on the inside, inside, and what's on the outside, outside. Think Troy, but with more giant robot animals than wooden horses. Oh, robotic artificial limbs and non-human characters (robots, slightly mutanty people, etc) can exist here, however, if you want to play one, I'll need a PM telling me what you intend to do.

Also, to keep the peace in this 'Utopian' society, the law is very strict here - There's weekday curfews from 8PM, and plain-clothes police patrol around. Indeed, it's surprising anything illegal goes down here!

But, you know, that's where you come in! You can come and run around in a giant mech (either from the Zoids franchise, or of your own design, although I'll get onto that later) and beat other people up. And, of course, possibly kill them. Plus any unlucky onlookers. So, that sounds harsh, yes, but considering half the people out there 'want' to kill you, you can never really be too careful.

Most people have a Zoid (big giant animal mech, in short), since they're about as commonplace as cars (though flying/swimming/burrowing ones are rarer). They can be straight up machines, or they can have AI, and be people unto themselves! Though most people do have zoids, they're mostly just flimsy civilian types, and homemade or bootleg weapons are hardly what you'd call reliable. Or safe. But it's all the pilots of Coronet City have, so they make do.

Now, as I said earlier, it's time for some rules and stuff! First off, "'don't be an ass'''. So that's probably the most overused rule ever. I'm still going to say it.

Second of all, I expect you to be able to use proper spelling and grammar in your posts - The odd typo is fine, but I don't want to have to use code breaking algorithms just to read your post.

In addition to this: Posts should be at least a small paragraph in length - In other words, I'd like decent posts to work with, not flimsy one-liners.

And, last, but by no means least. Whilst custom zoids are allowed, they need to be based off an animal ( either living or extinct ) in design, and they need to be reasonably realistic in weapon choice and general structure So, that triple CPC toting bunny you wanted? Not here you don't!

There will be limited places - I haven't got a definite number just yet, but I don't want too many people in this at any one time. You may make multiple characters, and if/when one dies, you can have another use their mech, if you so wish (and they have a good reason for having it). Do not make more characters than you can handle, however

As you know, I won't be joining until after a holiday (leave in one week, be back two after that) but could you hold a spot for me?

I'm thinking of running a "Venom Viper", a Zoid based on the RZ-020 Stealth Viper, that takes the latter and makes it scarily fast by removing weaponry and the central box, adding in corrosive-based weaponry to compensate.

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.

Hold a space for me to? Might use an Iron Kong that was originally used for construction and put some homeade napalm throwers on it. Also a big I-beam to be used as a club >:3

GIVE ME YOUR FACE

  • Name: Sylph Black
  • Gender: Female
  • Personality: Sylph is a rather short tempered person, prone to flipping out at rather small things, however, she does make a concerted effort to be kind, even though she doesn't feel like she has anything in common with anyone. She can also be quite paranoid - Sylph is convinced that she's going to get caught running around with an illegal Zoid, with an illegal reactor core, doing illegal things some day, so, often, innocuous remarks are misconstrued as far more serious things. It can also lead to violence, sometimes, which, more often than not, are broken up by her dog (named Dog) joining in, and spoiling the fun...
  • Appearance: She's a cyborg (just barely) and thus, her body is not organic - You can't really tell from the first glance, though - She's got synthetic, and very realistic skin, and has a quit lifelike breathing mechanism. If you stab her, though, the blade won't go in very far. She's fairly impervious to bullets, too, provided the aren't headshots, or meant to deal with metal.
  • History: Sylph has led a varied life - Having run away from home when she was young, and then taking up several rather dangerous jobs, she spiralled into a rather depressive state, and, feeling like she had nothing to live for any longer, flew her Zoid (a Raynos) into restricted military airspace. She was killed in the explosion, technically, that day, however, the various scientist types in the facility protected by the restricted airspace resurrected her, sort of - Her brain was still salvageable, so they transplanted it into a mechanical body. There were a few teething problems, of course, such as Sylph trying to do herself in again when she found out, however, this route was quickly closed when they figured out how to add artificial programming to her mind. As she had with her home, Sylph ran away from this situation too, with what she could salvage from the wreckage of her old Zoid. Hiding out in Coronet City, she built herself a new Zoid from the frame of her old one, and began battling with the thing.
  • Zoid:
    • Name: Abyss
    • Type: Ripper Pheonix
    • Appearance Built from the frame of a Raynos, this Zoid could technically be considered a Psuedo-evolution. It retains (and, indeed, improves on) the Raynos' speed, although it has less armour to make up for the increased number of limbs, to the point where the leg mechanisms are actually visible. The pheonix flies much like a modern bird, however, on the ground, it moves more like a pteranodon. The result of the extensive modifications this Zoid has been though was a flier that travels very fast through the air, however, it is very fragile, and relies on its disruptive weaponry to disable opponents, and its speed to evade attacks.
    • Weapons:
      • Triple Plasma Vents
        • Located in each beak of the pheonix, these vents are technically designed to cool the rather unstable (and completely illegal) plasma reactor, they make for potent weapons, however, they also leave the reactor dangerously cold.
      • Strike Talons
        • Whilst the beaks of the Zoid are too weak to serve as weapons, the talons are quite a different story - They're sharp and dexterous, if a little on the weak side.
      • Tri-Strike Tail Spikes
        • In an effort to make the most of weapons that could be disguised as aesthetics, the zoid's three tails are outfitted with small spikes - They don't do a lot of damage, but they're significantly more hard wearing than the talons.
      • Plasma Needle
        • An unstable weapon running off of an unstable reactor, this weapon specialises in injecting hot plasma below the armour of enemies, disrupting their systems from within. Generally, it can pierce most armours, given enough time, but particularly thick sections may break the needle. In addition to this, if the thing were ever to break, it would soak the pheonix in its own plasma which would definitely not be good.
      • ''Back-Mounted Chainsword
        • A chainsaw made in the image of a thin sword, the main function of this weapon is to open up armour segments for the Plasma Needle. It can't be parried easily, due to the whole rotating blade thing, but is susceptible from shocks to the side.
    • Equipment/Abilities
      • Plasma Generator Core
        • The core powering the Zoid, it was stolen from a military base before Sylph came to Coronet. It's a powerful bit of kit, however, it is very unstable - It will shut down if it gets too cold, and could explode if it gets knocked around too much. It doesn't mind being hot though. Probably helpful with the plasma thing, or something.

  • Name: Fey Arget
  • Gender: Female
  • Personality: A female with a passionate streak would probably be a good way to describe Fey when she's working - She's deeply interested in relics from the past, and in order for her to keep some of them, is dangerously nonchalent about laws - Especially ones that say things like You can't take things from excavations here because they belong to the city or You can't fight with giant mechs in the street because it endangers the public. Who listens to silly things like those, anyway?
When she isn't working, though, Fey is like a different person - One could mistake her apathy for being laid back, but, sadly, achieving her life's dream so early rather made any further effort on her part seem rather pointless...
  • Appearance: Link because I'm being lazy today.
  • History: Fey has wanted to be an archaeologist all her life, really - she was one of those rare kids who had an aspiration in life that they stuck to. Indeed, when she achieved her goal, it was a happy day indeed. That said, her life had become really quite anticlimactic since - She achieved her goal, so what else is there to do? Well, unearth a centuries-old Zoid and keep it in your garage for illegal street battles, of course! This sort of dangerous thrill-seeking isn't all that great, if one was to stop and think about t, but Fey doesn't really care: It's simply a fun sideline for her.
  • Zoid:
    • Name: Grimace (Shortened to 'Grim ' often)
    • Type: Shield Liger
    • Appearance Made to generic designs, this Shield Liger is a relic, and, as such, was really quite rusty when found. Indeed, it had so many problematic areas, many pieces of its armour were simply cut out and left - It's missing so much of the armour on the side of its face, it looks as if it has a permanent grin. In addition to this, the back plate concealing its back-mounted beam gun (also a relic - It's amazing the thing still works!) is merely a stub, none of its paws are entirely intact, and what was once a tail gun is now a warped spike!
    • Weapons:
      • Strike Claws & Saber Fangs
        • The claws and fangs of the Shield Liger, although not amazingly powerful, are probably it's most reliable weapons, even if they are kinda rusty.
      • Back-Mounted Beam Gun
        • A folding gun mounted on the back of Shield Ligers as standard, this one likes to malfunction a lot, although, when it fires, it's a decent weapon. Just better pray it doesn't catch fire...
      • Anti-Zoid Gatling Gun
        • The only vaguely new weapon on the Liger, this gun was swiped from a border patrol and was technically meant for a jeep or an armoured vehicle. As such, it's kind of small for a Zoid weapon, but, mounted on the Liger's chest, it's size makes it rather unassuming, and at close range, it makes mincemeat of civilian armour plating. Just don't ask it to be a long range weapon, or, in fact, accurate.
      • Tail Blade
        • A rather artistic name for what is essentially the mangled remains of a firearm. It's been sharpened to a fine point, and stabs rather decently, even if the placement is not exactly ideal.

    • Equipment/Abilities
      • E-Shield
        • The Shield Liger's namesake, the internal energy generator has held up excellently, even if the exterior shield generating pieces haven't. The barrier created isn't half bad, either - Whilst you could theoretically force your way through it, you'd lose a lot of important stuff doing it - The shield can generally only stand one or two attacks before shutting off, though, unless they're particularly weak.
      • Stealth Unit
        • Since the shield tends to get overloaded quickly, a cheap stealth unit was added. Sitting behind the beam gun, the external unit resembles a small black box, and renders the Zoid mostly invisible to sight (it's teeth are usually visible) and totally invisible to most radar systems. You can still hear the thing, though.
  • Other: N/A

Thought I should probably give people some sort of measure of what they can do. So, you know, rusty liger! And depressing-backstory cyborg!
