A fellow author on Fan fiction.Net blocked me from posting in one of his forums and from messaging him. I don't know if he banned me from reviewing chapters, though, since I've reviewed all of his chapters so far and stupid FF.Net won't let anyone review a chapter with more than one signed in review.

Now, let me just get this straight before anyone puts words in my mouth and starts saying I'm at fault:I am not trying to pressure him, threaten him, hold ransom, be rude, or otherwise be a controlling jerk. I simply want to know how I can talk to him and clear the air between us, get rid of any bad blood. I did make some grueling mistakes while still in contact with this author, but I am trying to fix the problem, and besides, we are all human and make mistakes.

So, any known ways on how to talk to him?

First of all, what kind of mistakes?

Second of all, is there someone you both know who would be willing to talk to him for you?

Looking for some stories?

[up] I was asking him questions concerning his story that he had not answered and was wondering when he was going to update and if he wanted any ideas or other help. He got pissed because I was asking him so much.

I have asked if one of my friends on that site could perhaps message him and ask him to talk, but he hasn't responded so far. Maybe he'll respond tomorrow, since this weekend was so hectic for him.

Create a new account under a different name, then private message him. Don't try to hide who you are, but don't open the message with "I'm actually X under a different account". If anything, introduce yourself via signature at the end of the message. That way he actually reads the message before seeing your user name, deleting your PM, and booting your new account from his forum.

This way, even if this does end with him erasing your message without reading it and banning the sender, your friend won't lose their account.

[up] Mmm, no. This directly circumvents the purpose of a block feature and, though I'm not familiar with the particular rules of that site, if the recipient decides to report you for it, you could be facing certain consequences (get banned, etc.)

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Sorry, I misread his initial post. I thought it said that he'd already been banned. It's only looking back after reading your post that I noticed that he said he was blocked from communicating with the other poster, not banned from the forum.

So do I ask my friend or make a new account? Or is there a third option?

If the author has blocked you, that's generally an indication they don't want you contacting them.

Food for thought.

What you are trying to do is not relevant. What you are perceived as doing is.

[up] Oh, really? And just what are you perceiving me as doing?

[up][up] As I said, I am trying to clear things up.
