I mean they at least arnt being literal and trying to name it 'Golden Mosaic', which is standard crap for them.
Nothing wrong with that. It's at least not using a foreign language it's supposed to translate from.
Check out my fanfiction!Yeah. There's nothing wrong with Yen Press translating the tiles to English.
I was going to comment about the Japanese title saying "kin-iro" in Japanese but just borrowing the word "mosaic", but found out that there doesn't seem to be a separate Japanese word for it. Then I realized... why do "literal translation" and "transliteration" mean practically opposite things?

Given the format, I THINK that "Pretty Days" will be an OAV, as there's not much extra material I think for a full season right now.
It's actually a theatrical OVA, meaning we won't get to see it for a while.
The only resource you need for tropesIt's always good to have more Kinmoza. Hopefully we get some scenes with Kuzehashi-sensei as well.

Well, should be nice...whenever we get it.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
Well, at a minimum we'd have the the Yen Press release◊ next month.
I think we should be kept posted on how they transliterate Alice's surname, and hope they'd be consistent. They were not in Dan Machi's case.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaSo some people have gotten back from watching the Pretty Days theatrical OVA. I'm a bit surprised that, according to the summaries, it seems to be entirely about Ayaya. Primarily how she, Shinobu, and Youko end up in their current school.
I dunno, but I didn't think Ayaya was THAT neglected in the series to merit an OVA focused mostly on her. What do you think?
Hm, that's interesting. I don't think Aya was neglected in series. However, beyond her crush on Youko, I don't really know that much about her, I guess? Gotta see the OVA myself to be sure, but it's also about how Shinobu, Youko and her became great pals, isn't it? This is most appreciated.
Well, it's probably gonna be a while until we get a rip of the OVA, so minor spoilers:
Ayaya was apparently supposed to have gone to a prestigious school, but passed on that to be with Youko and Shinobu. Indeed, she helped the two get INTO their current school, which apparently one needed good grades to even get into (aka it's not prestigious, but more than decent).
The rest is apparently framed in the context of preparing for a school play, and this is where the usual Kinmoza shenanigans come in. Like Karen getting all sorts of parts in the performance...

...Yep, this OVA is gonna be great!
Fun stuff.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Oh goodness, all this excitement for the OAV just reminded me of an anime crack video featured on Lost Pause (skip to 1:31 or 3:20 of the video below):
Awesome Music + a diabetes-inducing cute scene = My sides getting liberated. A full version is guaranteed to blow my mind (like Killer Queen does).
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."I haven't been reading Yen Press' translation yet—I'm having a vacation in Asia—but I can confirm that their translation made minor changes in the main cast's romanizations:
- Shinobu's surname is spelled "Oomiya," compared to "Omiya" used in This Wiki.
- Alice's surname is "Cartelet," compared to "Cartalet" used by Sentai (and this wiki).
- Several long-O changes: Youko Inokuma and Karen Kujou.
@363 I'm not sure why you're looking for a rip of it. The real McCoy will be coming out on March 3.
The only resource you need for tropesHey how much of the manga does the anime cover anyways or does the anime do its own thing? Asking because I just remembered that it was mentioned the manga was getting an official English release.
Double posting but the OVA has subs now. I'm still waiting for my preferred sub group to do it but if you know where to look you can find subs for the OVA pretty easily.
The OVA is an enjoyable one. Maybe, we'll get a season three
The only resource you need for tropesFinally watched the OVA.
Ah, so the main point to take away from this is that Aya was reassuring herself that her bond with Shino is just as strong and unbreakable as the others'. Awww...
Speaking of Shinobu...seriously, if her ambitions of mastering the English language doesn't pan out, she's got another two paths before her at least.
I know this thread's been quiet for a while, but it looks like Kiniro Mosaic received a movie that condenses out the events from volume seven to the end. I've yet to see the movie for myself, but it looks like a fun watch (I found a wonderful collection of screenshots and a spoiler-y review of the movie). I wonder if some of this thread's posters will have a chance to watch Kiniro Mosaic's movie, since the movie does represent an ending to things.

I’ll be hoping the movie gets English subs. Really cool that they adapted it all the way to the finish line.
From the looks of things, the movie skips a lot the chapters in the manga, but still manages to tie together all of the most important moments together.
No, they dropped the hyphen. The wikiword used by this wiki (Kin-iro Mosaic) is the one Hara uses, but Yen Press seems to be doing it without.
