This looks promising.

Are you sure it's not just designed to look like it's in stop-motion?

BTW, the way they've managed to get all those licenses together and include stuff like the DC licenses alongside the classic Lego properties (And even really, really recent stuff like the TMNT) is giving me really good Wreck-It Ralph-ish vibes.

That might be the case too.

It's still a very nice looking visual style, though.

I think that since these are based on the LEGO versions, they're safely within the LEGO family and only one corporation to pay.

I hope to see BIONICLE or Hero Factory in it.

I don't think Bionicle and Hero Factory count as LEGO anymore. They're their own separate toy line and you can't even mix the pieces together.

Wow I like the self aware tone this film has.

I mean how else would you get Morgan Freeman to introduce all those random lego characters?

When I first heard that they were doing a LEGO movie, I was expecting something stupid. This trailer has completely changed my mind.

Half the movie could be an unfunny fart joke and I would still see it. And also...

Uh-uh you DIDN'T! The Bionicle and Hero Factory lines are compatible with each other and SYSTEM, you just need to get creative. Or not-so-creative. I did it when I was 13, its not too hard.

I think it's time we stand up and recognize the REAL hero of this movie:

Nineteen-Eighty-Something Space Guy.

If I see Rock Raiders and Johnny Thunder I will pass out from nostalgia.

The details like the cracked helmet chin (let's face it, who hasn't done that} and all the bacakground characters are incredible.

Definitely going to see this.

If they bring in Bionicle, I hope they do the same with Duplo, if only for a one-off gag.

This trailer could have sucked, and I would still be interested in the movie just because of the animation. The look of this thing is so much cooler than what I was expecting.

@Geth Knight: Seriously? Look at Kopaka's shield◊ in this original pic. It's a system piece you find as a satellite dish piece in system sets.

Also, there were some BIONICLE playsets such as this one◊ from a few years ago.

Heck, I managed to build something◊ with both system and technic parts.

Um, guys, "The Lego Movie"? I think you mean "The 'LEGO Bricks or Toys' Movie".

It's almost like a trick I mean illusion is being played on us.

Also an international trailer with some extra scenes but it also cut out Morgan Freeman's bit

I think they're trying to capture the feel of playing with Legos. With the exception of the mouth movement, this definitely has an "stop-motion movie made with Legos" look.

It's to emulate the stop-motion Lego videos people have been making since Lego Studios came out years ago.
