Since this is, "A swimsuit noted in-universe for its extreme brevity," I think we would need to see someone looking at the person with surprise like the last panel of R&V.
While the suit is an example, we clearly don't need an image of the character wearing it. Maybe holding it up on a clothing hanger with a bemused expression on their face, but we don't want to leave the door open for a fanservice war.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Well, there is this picture◊ from the A Certain Magical Index examples.
The Cross-Popping Veins show her reaction to how little the bikini covers her, as well as the haughty laughter her friend is giving.

OP's suggestion seems perfect. Not fanservice-y, but clearly gets it across.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. The line "it must be reacted to as such within the story" makes me wonder whether the DoA one really is an example. At the very least, the image doesn't illustrate it.
Check out my fanfiction! That is just an example of a small bikini. The trope is In-Universe Only.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. How about a compromise? It should be possible to use a montage of the suggested image along with someone looking toward that image with eyes popping.
That way, we avoid being overly fan-service-y but also illustrate the trope by showing the reaction.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMI personally would vote in favour of the suggested image if it were already on the page, for fun factor (a bikini hanging in the air?) only.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI only have Dead or Awesome EXTREEEEEME in response for that.
I'm fine with showing this image, it gets the point across without being NSFW.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
I like that image just fine.
And "extremely brief or skimpy and acknowledged as such within the work" doesn't mean that the acknowledgment has to be in the form of eye-popping surprise from another character.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.A few more votes and we can run with the OP suggestion.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMaybe not by the other characters, but I'm pretty sure it's meant in universe to be this trope. Good enough for me.
For the suggestion.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. It's up, potholed and tagged. Caption?

^ I like that one much better than the one suggested in the OP, personally.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpNo objections by me either. For some reason, The Google Incident and The Second Google Incident came to mind. Doesn't matter to me what the caption says though.
I think 17 is witty.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DM"Redefining 'string bikini'."
for 17 as caption for wittiness.
I support 17 too, and since I am the seventh vote, it's now up and the tag's adjusted. Requesting lock.

So, I'm just going to be blunt and go directly with the most extreme example I can think of... which happens to be from Dead Or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball.
The Venus Microkini.
Allow me to explain: This series of games is designed purely for fanservice, and these Microkinis amount to nothing more than dental floss and strategically placed gemstones. The girls themselves have relationship values with each other, and won't wear a type of swimsuit unless their relationship is high enough that they feel comfortable wearing it. This gives justification to earning the reward to see the final result.
The caption speaks for itself. However, if you do want to see what the girls look like in it, there's plenty of screenshots on the internet. For example:

Looking through the Anime & Manga section, I googled up this◊ for the Rosario To Vampire example listed, though it'd be hard to edit that one together into a good image.
