Ambiguous Name (Titles crowner 7/07/13): This Trope Is Bleep get usage counts

"Trope" as a placeholder (again). It's not even a very clear name, either. According to the description, it's about bleeping-out innocuous words to make a sentence sound dirty.

We can do better than this.
Because underscores break everything: Working link to my Troper page
I'd suggest a transplant with the redirect Unnecessary Censorship from the meme title, but it could be misused as complaining about censorship. And, well, it's a meme.

Hm... Censored Cleanliness?

Censored Cleanliness is good for me.

Dragon Writer
Or perhaps Son Of A Bleep. I know it falls under naming the trope after its own example (not a Good Thing), but at least it makes more sense and doesn't use the word "trope" gratuitously.

Anything's better than the current name, but that's not a good alternative. It sounds like tropes about bleeping swears.

Naughty Censoring? Censored for Comedy?

Well, the image is terrible and it isn't even a correct example according to the description. Should this be in the other forum? I saw a couple misuses also, where people seemed to think any form of bleep censoring was an example. Bleep Dammit should probably also be linked to from it's page. And there seems to be some overlap there.

There is also some weird cases, like shows using censoring as an alternative to a Bland-Name Product (aka it's not profanity, but also not arguably unnecessary) . Also, looking at the examples, there seem to be a ton of cases where it's not obvious what the bleeped out word is (it could be something that needs it or not).

People seem to be using it as a generic censoring trope(which we don't seem to have, oddly enough, it might be worth having a definition only super trope). The whole censoring tropes hierarchy could probably use a bit of a re organisation (or at least an index), and this one seems to be attracting the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else.

This looks like a case for a plain rename.

Renaming's good.

OK, I've asked for a rename crowner.

Single prop crowner's hooked.
@7 Actually, according to the caption, it is. But you'd have to mull over it a bit to get it, or else have seen the scene in question.

11 votes support renaming with no opposition.

I'd say that's enough of a consensus; calling for the rename.
Alternative Titles crowner made and hollering for it to be swapped.

Bump for votes.

There appears to be a little bit of misuse on the page as well.

I and Macron Notes finished the rename, save for a ghost wick and a wick on a to-be-cut page.

Requesting closure.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.

Vote up names you like, vote down names you don't. Whether or not the title will actually be changed is determined with a different kind of crowner (the Single Proposition crowner). This one just collects and ranks alternative titles.
