I'd support the rename, and some improvement of the description as well.
I concur.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Yes, rename.
Agreed.
This seems like Periphery Demographic But More Specific, actually. My vote would be to merge it.
I think I disagree there with you. I think eager interest from LGBT communities is distinct enough and might deserve its own audience-reaction page.
Well, he's definitely not wrong about what it is. The question is whether it's significant enough to deserve its own spin-off.
Honestly, I think it's fine to keep it. Just rename it and clean up the description some.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. So, valid subtrope, then?
I am neutral on a merge.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanA rename and an improved description is fine with me.
Bumping for votes. The tally is:
- 3-0 in favour of a rename.
- 0-3 against a merge into Periphery Demographic.
In its current state, this is about a work that develops a definitive LGBT demographic. This does not have to be unintentional, as bolded text emphasizes. So this is not a subtrope of Periphery Demographic.
Calling for the rename.
Alt Names. I have found only one name here, so far.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAdded two. One of which was in the first post.
Titles crowner's hooked.

Bump for votes. Right now, LGBT Fanbase is the only one in the green but only 5-3.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI want to say Gay Yay, but that's already a redirect to Ho Yay. I put it on the list anyway.

I'm not LGBT. I just think Rain's really cool. Apologies if my humor gets too painful.Thumbed it down, since a) it's unclear and b) the Audience Reaction covers the whole LGBT spectrum, not just male homosexuality.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI had half a mind to put "Rainbow Brigade" on there, but that's even less clear.

The more I look at this, the more I'm not sure if it's really tropeworthy.
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Everything above the examples is a mess. I think it's supposed to be about fandoms gaining a large LGBT fandom, but the description just repeats that it doesn't have to be unintentional and is not written in good English.
The laconic version actually contradicts the main definition. It says that something is beloved by gays, suggesting that it's something within the work, not the work itself.
The image is of David and Jonathan with a caption, which doesn't illustrate the trope well. It seems to be Just A Face And A Caption.
The ambiguous name is a problem as well. It's not a Relationship Writing Fumble and doesn't have to be unintentional, so it doesn't fit into the X Yay Snowclone family. Together with the unclear description, it sounds like people think the fans are gay than that they actually are.
I suggest alternate titles of Homosexual Demographic and LGBT Demographic, and a rewrite of the description so that it keeps the notes of intentionality to the very end of the description. The speculation can be moved to the Analysis page.
