This better?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
That's much better...I'd say it can be put in as a quality swap now. The question then becomes, do we leave it with that or try for something else?
It's not improvised! It's clearly planned for!
I think it works well enough. I think there was some trouble finding an image for a similar trope, probably Emergency Weapon, but this might be easier. Anyway, unless someone finds a good one, a quality swap is sufficient.
Check out my fanfiction!Don't really warm for it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe quality is poor, but it's funny, and if that's not improvised, I don't know what is.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I like it better than the current. It's funnier, actually illustrates it, and already has a caption.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I think the picture is too busy and it doesn't clearly look like a cactus.
Apparently, this image is a meme, but I think we can use it as long as the image doesn't have a caption. http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/have-you-ever-been-so-angry-that-you-x

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Caption: Read the book title
Or since the title is a little unclear: Book title: Using Found Objects As Weapons
This image is mentioned in Unsound Effect but it's not the page image.

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMThat's already on Throw the Book at Them.
Bah. I don't really think "throw the book at them" should be a trope at all, in that form. It's always been a pseudo-legal phrase meaning "charge them with every offense you can" (which itself seems to be a Dead Horse Trope nowadays). Also the "throw the book at them" trope isn't about throwing at all. It's about attacking using books, whether thrown or just wielded. If it was strictly limited to "throw", the page image wouldn't illustrate it.
But I guess regardless of all that, if it's already there then we can't re-use it. Not without finding a new page image for "throw the book at them".
Which is a huge pity because the image really illustrates this trope far better than it does "throw[ing] the book at them".
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMIn terms of finding examples of Improvised Weapon, I think the easiest place is to look at pictures of violent protests. As such, I give you these two fine examples of people who have taken up the noble art of fencing: [1]◊ [2]◊
Alternatively, there's also this pic; which shows them in use and in contrast against actual weapons: [3]◊

I like the fencing pun. Of those, I think the second is best. Not sure I like it more than other images, though. Might need a crowner to decide.
What you're saying is that you don't like the name of the trope, not that you don't like the trope itself? And that image illustrate that trope far better than this trope. Though while I'm not sure it's actually a subtrope, it's definitely got a lot of overlap.
Check out my fanfiction!Okay, I like that second "fencing" pic, on par with the replacement of the current.
I'm partial to the second "fencing" image as well.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. If you'd like to give some exposure to a new web comic, this might qualify.
I can reformat the image. At the moment, I don't like how tall it needs to be. I'll have a go at other layouts while you talk amongst yourselves. ;-)
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMHere's another candidate, reformatted and with one less panel.
Caption: Two improvised weapons for the price of one. :-)
Edit: added second image shrunk to 300px wide.

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMSeems more like it fits a beehive or trap trope.
Check out my fanfiction!Clock is set.
I like the fencing pun. #2 seems better since he's actually using it as a weapon in the shot, as opposed to #1 where he's only gearing up to do so.
Moon◊Aww, I wanted the cactus :)
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
This image has pretty ugly artifacting. I don't know the source, but can anyone find a better version?
