I think the developers were actually pretty clear Eveline isn't supposed to be entirely sympathetic but a terrifying monster. She's a little girl but she's a little girl who is controlling, psychotic, and full of terrifying childish rage with no hesitation to use it against anyone who disobeys her. She's basically that kid from the Twilight Zone episode which the Simpsons parodied in their early season who sends people to the corn field. I mean, both Mia and Ethan call her a bitch and are justified in taking her down due to all the horrors she put them through.
Ironically, the most Moral Event Horizon sort of thing going on isn't just her treatment of the Bakers and forcing them to be her family but the sheer HATE she has for Zoe just because she wants to take Zoe's place in the Baker family.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I imagine the "Why does everyone hate me?" line was pretty much a desperate attempt at manipulation on Eveline's part.
It's been 3000 years…I would wager it's both: She legitimely wants a family but is too insane and monstrous to understand the full extent of her actions
The thing that bugs me about this DLC is that the whole thing is a big oversight from the main game. You find notes from Marguerite implying that Eveline's takeover took days, including complaining about voices and headaches and getting X-rays. Instead they're mad and spewing bugs and carving themselves up from the get-go.

Get the true ending of Daughters, everything went back to seemingly normal the next morning and nobody properly remembers what happened.
Oh really when?I think it was a case of needing to skip continuity to make a more interesting DLC.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Children are the real monsters
Its a case of both, Eveline is for the most part a child, which includes the childish notion She's the center of the universe and everything should revolve around her. Thats why Mia's attempts to talk her down bounce off in flashback.
In a way its a perfect example of a Tragic Monster done right that prevents center leather pantsing habits
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! We also see that at least Marguerite was able to resist the control at least long enough to throw Zoe the car keys, so it was probably was, and to a degree, still is as of the events of 7, an on again off again thing. They're permanently monstrous cannibals, but the family's underlying love for one another and even flashes of being decent people to others are occasionally still there, just not long enough to really matter in any significant way outside the hive mind sit down.
Heard there is no Rocket Launcher in this game. Are this and 0 the only Resident Evil games without Rocket Launchers (Kinda like how RE 4 is the only Resident Evil game without a Grenade Launcher)?

0 did have one as an unlockable, so this is only mainline one.
I hope the Not A Hero DLC lets you end the game with a rocket launcher as is tradition.
Oh really when? Not A Hero is apparently about Redfield, Hunting down Lucas to tie up that loose end... and collect samples
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! There's room for rocket launchers in there.
Oh really when?It does seem like rocket launchers are becoming less and less common in games in general, though. Probably due to the increased focus on realism and rocket launchers generally being restricted to militaries and 3rd World rebels in reality.
Nonsense. RPG's and other cheaply made explosives are still common. Although to be fair, most heavy ordinance is specifically designed for vehicles, ala the Javelin.

Mileena MadnessHank lumping 7 with 6 and 5 is awful.

Since the "Not A Hero" DLC is relatively around the corner(?), I thought it'd be good to recap something of importance.
Where were we on the whole "Chris in RE7 might not be the real Chris" discussion?
Capcom may have established a few days back that that truly was Chris, but how many of us are actually taking their word for it?
I mean, it's not the first time they tried to make Chris seem like a bad guy. Remember the Resident Evil 6 trailers and marketing campaign anyone? But his face definitely doesn't look right. And he sounds off too. And he's explicitly wearing the Umbrella logo.
Oh really when? When did they establish this?
Perhaps. But if it really is Chris, then why doesn't he look more like he did in RE6 or even the upcoming Vendetta movie, which is supposed to be taking place immediately before RE7?
There isn't any denying (at least on my end) that he looks vaguely like Chris from RE1, but...
EDIT: On their Twitter.

Well the story (and ostensibly Capcom) want us to think that's who he is. That doesn't make it true.
It just hit me.
What if the Chris Redfield in RE7 is Christian Redfield while the Chris we know from RE1-6 is Christopher Redfield?

They've datamined the "Not a Hero" DLC so, here's some notes if you want spoilers.
It it is, in fact, Chris Redfield. He's working for the Umbrella Corps and Umbrella Corporation seemingly of his own free will but is using them to rescue people who have been kidnapped by Lucas and are being held in his death traps. He'll fight "White Molded" which are creatures that aren't related to Eveline now that she's dead. Chris also will arrest Lucas at the end rather than execute him so he can be brought to justice.

Okay never mind. I see what you guys mean after looking into that DLC. That's just beyond disturbing as it's implied that all of the Bakers even Lucas were a happy normal family at the very start of the infection.
