Probably the following.

-Disciplinary punch if he panics.

-Being kidnapped to a Pub/Strip Club because he's a man and he's supposed to handle drinks a bit better than full japs.

-Chased by Akuma

-etc

Well, in the order you posted those...

1. It'd probably be hard to tell if he was panicking in most normal situations.

2. He might actually secretly enjoy that.

3. Okay, that might freak him out a little.

This is gonna be fun smile

Might I add that Kukiko is fluent in English and Russian aswell (and I'm not sure if it'd be a requirement to know German too?)

Maybe some German. I figure Gabe isn't exactly fluent in it, but perhaps might know enough to be able to get around if he were a tourist or something. Should we just stick with different colored text to represent different languages?

Okay. I added the languages. Where did she learnt? You don't want to know. Suffice to say that sometimes you need to know what are the guys you're trying to kill saying.

I got it I got it.

Name: Arianna Antonio
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Occupation: Pilot of EVA 00
Appearance: A multiracial look, fairly small in stature (a head shorter than the shortest member of the team), rather young and cute overall despite being one of the older pilots.
History: Arianna was born with her parents as the sole remnants of a shattered native Italian family that had the fortune of being out of the country, which was virtually eviscerated by Second Impact. She was raised in a tough time by tough parents, who in this darkest hour of humanity secluded themselves from the rest of the refugees in Germany. She was taught a strict fundamentalist interpretation of Catholic teachings, and had almost no friends and little contact or awareness with the outside world when she grew up.

Her father was then employed by NERV for his skills as a former engineer. He quickly grew distant from the family, and ultimately he would be so hypnotized and enthralled by his project- helping the construction of the Evangelions- that he would kidnap his own wife and offer her as the test subject for EVA 00. Arianna herself would not be aware of the truth. All she knew was that both her parents were essentially gone, and she returned to society at large when she was shipped off to Japan as part of a refugee relocation program.

She lived her life as an ordinary, if quiet and meek, student for a few years until she came of age to be considered for the Evangelion piloting program. Those who knew Arianna's family secrets intended Arianna's piloting to be a test run of the Evangelion program as a whole. Arianna accepted the job in her belief that it was the moral and correct thing to do, to offer herself for the world's protection. The test was successful and Arianna was the first Evangelion pilot. She remains in Tokyo-3 as the 'veteran' pilot.
Personality: Arianna is quiet, studious, and very stubborn; in three short words. She is strong of spirit and conviction, not hesitating to tell others what she feels is the correct path to take by her strict set of moral guidelines and codes. Yet Arianna bears some subconscious trauma from her past, alongside the usual existential drama that comes with being a teenager. In an attempt to compensate Arianna tends to over-compensate, either acting like a doormat and changing her beliefs almost at random or being so horrifically stubborn it is virtually sociopathic.

She is fairly nice and polite and is even in some ways matronly, however it is hard for one to tell how much of this is inherently her and how much of it is rooted in her faith. She herself wonders this, and her good traits seem quite inconsistent for it.
Skills: Speaks three languages fluently: Japanese, German, and Italian.

[up] Accepted (but you already knew that)

Anyway, I suppose there is one more pilot spot still available, but should I at least get the discussion thread up tonight?

How much would you accept a character being similar to someone from canon? I admit, my character in mind for Unit-02 might come off as similar to Asuka to the point I would use this picture to identify her. Yes, I already know what's going on with the picture. It seems the right amount of girlish yet boyish for her.

Honestly, I think we kind of need a hot blooded Asuka-type pilot also. I say go for it.

  • Name: Allison "Ally" Anderson
  • Age: 15
  • Gender: Female
  • Occupation: Pilot, Unit-02
  • Appearance: Pretty much this, though she does like wearing longcoats.
  • Personality: For lack of words, Allison is a mixture of vain, broken, and playful. Whether its serious or an act, she does seem to want others to improve directly because of her. Though she hates being downplayed or insulted, which depending on what's happening results in a variety of outcomes. Her past is a sore subject, though for the most part able to disregard anyone pestering her. Besides all this, she acknowledges piloting an Eva isn't a game yet wants to make it memorable nonetheless. Outside of training and tests she spends a good deal of her time researching anything remotely dealing with angels, Angels, and Christianity for the sake of her eventual encounter with Angels. She despises people who can't take the mission of NERV seriously, thus putting her at odds with people outside of NERV and new recruits. Thus she mainly focuses on herself and mostly socializes with other members of NERV.
  • History: Born from a mostly one-night stand of her parents, her mother was hardly fit to raise a child mostly for being too much like one. She was taken from her mother's custody not too long after she was born, and with no known relatives spent five years in an orphanage. Thus she never truly knew what family was, until her father and his wife came for her. Though they came for the same purpose, they had different reasons for finding her. Her father wanted her on hand regarding potential experiments, while her step-mother Sarah simply wanted to be someone's mother. Both Sarah and Allison's birth-mother came from America, which her father had an interest in. Thus she speaks English in addition to Japanese, though given their eccentric lifestyle she doesn't fully understand Japanese culture. Both Allison and Sarah had strong bonds with each other, that it was her step-mother that first called her Ally. Though Sarah died around the time Allison was twelve, and from there everything changed for her. It wasn't long until she became the pilot for Unit-02, and has recently been brought over with her father and some staff to Neo-Tokyo 3.

Personality probably needs to be refined/expanded and I'm still figuring out her History, just putting this up here so you know I'm still joining. Would it be okay if she's from America?

[up] Looks fine as long as you fill in the history part. There shouldn't be a problem with her coming from America either.

Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and post the discussion thread at least. I'll edit this post to link to it once it's up.

ImperialSunlight A Practical Observer from Tolaria West Since: Apr, 2013 Relationship Status: I'm just high on the world
A Practical Observer
#62: May 20th 2013 at 1:27:15 AM

Name: Eduard Axis

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Occupation: Computer Technician/NERV 2nd Lieutenant (Mission Control)

Appearance: Long, blond hair, brown eyes. Half Japanese, half French. 5'6''. Almost no facial or body hair. Almost androgynous appearance.

History: Eduard was born in the US to Emily and Yamato Axis (Axis being Emily's original surname). He grew up in the France for a while, showing exceptional technical knowledge and skill in many areas, but having poor social skills, staying within his own small group of friends. He learned both Japanese and French from his parents. His was an accidental birth and Emily never intended to have a child, so she became distant from him, paying more attention to her career in the military. Before he reached the level of high school, his mother died and due to family and economic pressures, Yamoto was forced to move with Eduard to Japan. This was unfortunate for Eduard, who wasn't very familiar with Japanese customs and had no friends or family that he knows in Japan. He became very lonely and his grades began to slip. He eventually began acting very flamboyant and exaggerated in order to get attention. He tried to hide his loneliness by surrounding himself with people, even if he had to act ridiculous to do so. He wasn't so much a class clown as that he acted differently than he normally would for shock value. His grades seemed to improve after he adjusted somewhat, and he was accepted into university for computer technology and was successful. His father died afterward, leaving him to fend for himself. He used the connections he had kept from Emily to get employed at NERV. While he doesn't particularly like what NERV is doing, such as using children for pilots, he does not particularly care as long as he gets paid, since he is somewhat desperate and poor at this point.

Personality: Eduard acts very flamboyant in order to get attention. He dresses up situations in fancy words and tends to react to things in an overly emotional manner. Underneath this mask, however, he is very lonely and depressed, craving attention and companionship. Due to its false nature, his exaggerated demeanor can be toned down fairly easily in emergency situations in which he needs to be efficient, something that is often necessary in this kind of work. In addition, he is something of a pathological liar. While he tends not to lie for no reason, if he believes that lying will get him out of trouble, he doesn't hesitate. He is also somewhat of a pacifist for someone involved in a military organisation, and doesn't like violence. He doesn't mind if he's just behind a computer controlling violence, but if put into a violent situation, he would likely be quite afraid. Still, though, he has no real qualms about self-defense, and if he could get past his fear, he could defend himself without feeling much guilt.

Skills: Eduard is a highly skilled computer technician who knows computers and other machines very well. He is skilled in other fields as well, having some experience with medical and other science at his university, which helps him with the kind of work that is done at NERV. He has a critical mind and very often criticizes the technical aspects of others' work, though he usually sticks to people who can't fire him. He is also a decent poet in his spare time, though he is embarrassed about it and refuses to show it to anyone, if he even lets them find out about it.

Eduard is a native French speaker and was taught Japanese by his father, which he can also speak fairly fluently, though he has a slight accent. Any words or lines he has in French will be differentiated with blue text.

Please tell me if there's anything that conflicts with your interpretation or if there's anything else wrong with it. It's a bit late right now so I might make mistakes. :)

[up][up][up]Um... Which one is she supposed to be? There's two people in that picture... Also they're both guys, and whilst I don't exactly discourage yaoi, um... They're very clearly guys, so I'm not sure why you're using one of them as a girl.

[up][up] Hmm, maybe. There might be a little overlap there with my character since they're both American tech guys, but I do like the personality profile.

All right accepted. Your character can start out in the control room with Gabe when we get going. Go ahead and post in the discussion thread for now if you want.
