Recently, I have been writing a story, which at its core is The Secret World meets Artix Entertainment.

My main problem is that I'm very bad at humor. At most, I can make a bad pun or two once in a while, and even those aren't good.

Example - The leader of North Korea is so Kim Jung Uncool. See how bad that was?

So, I ask you all, any good tips or tricks for improving humor, especially to put in writing?

Help would be much appreciated.
Note to self: Pick less edgy username next time.

I've heard at least one author saying that their time in an improv comedy troupe helped with writing humor.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...
Not sure if this helps or reassures you, but in my opinion, even "uncool" humour has a certain cache and charm about it; in the innocent, Adorkable, Nerds Are Sexy kind of way.

I never asked for this
Read books by humor writers. Terry Pratchett, Bill Bryson, Douglas Adams, etc... You will start absorbing some of their sense of humor naturally, it worked for me.
"You like Castlevania, don't you?"
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
