Now for Space Patrol Luluco ... and maybe Kiznaiver?
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireThe sunken Honnouji link is broken. Can you fix it?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Probably because I got it from a wiki page. I can't find a screenshot of it anywhere else online, probably because all the videos of it are taken down due to the official companies wanting to profit off of the actual episodes, and oddly no one else bothered to upload that shot as an image.
So I watched the final OVA episode.
...Didn't realize Rei Hououmaru was supposed to be African (I just assumed she was a tanned japanese woman). It seems though that she was essentially raised by Ragyo in Japan despite her ethnicity.
Not much to really say about it. Just something of a final capstone to the whole thing.
One Strip! One Strip! And Ragyo puts the final nail in the terrible mother coffin by being a decent mother to someone besides her actual daughters.
I'll be honest, I'm still not over her first real appearance being her raping Satsuki.
Like, jesus.
I sure said that!Well, if they wanted to convince us she's evil...they succeeded.
One Strip! One Strip!Really?! I need to watch the OVA as I need more context.
Indeed. Ragyo is a monster and a horrible parent. I know those really loaded words but Ragyo has demonstrated time and again that she is a horrible person throughout the series.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"I was referring to Ragyo, actually.
Jesus.
Like, I really feel like the one failure of the story overall is a lack of examination on how traumatized Satsuki is- Regular sexual abuse is a pretty serious issue- Though, of course, there's also only so much time in twenty-four half-hour timeslots.
I sure said that! You do have a point. Kill la Kill should had explored that more as it is important part of why Satsuki is the way that she is.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"Ragyo in general should have been explored more. She was just kind of randomly evil. I mean, the logical assumption is that she's been infected by the Life Fibers so much that she thinks like them, but why is her compatibility with them so high in the first place? Even Ryuko is only a successful hybrid because she's Ragyo's daughter.
Kill la Kill is an action series so the focus on going to be on the action and what theme that it is going to explore. Still, I wish we get something on Ragyo even if it is that she was some sort enfant terrible and what about the Life Fibers? They are still around and could comeback and humanty needs to defend itself.

"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"That's why I like Lusamine from Pokemon as a character. She's essentially Ragyo but has much more development than Ragyo did. There's more too her character.
They have an infanticidal incestuous paedo genocidal rapist in Pokemon?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Not really, though control over clothing is part of her backstory. Same with worshipping alien lifeforms.
Watch SymphogearThis is kind of out of left field, but does anyone else get the feeling Kill La Kill takes place in a world where women are the dominant gender? Damn near every authority figure is female, Ryuko has a lot common shounen protagonist traits, and clearly female nakedness isn't considered as inappropriate as in real life.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I mean, maybe? Or maybe nobody wants to argue with the crazy disco milf who can suplex a FUCKING PLANETOID.
And everyone's okay with basically all nudity, except Ryuko with her own at the beginning. And... Anyone with Nudist Beach. Those guys were weird, even by this show's standards.
The show's universe is an exaggerated version of the real world where the Kiryuins are quite literally just that badass that then can suplex planets with ease.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"For that reason, it bugged me that Satsuki used a fake toenail to cut through her chain at the end. I had already accepted both Ryuko and Satsuki as impossibly badass superhumans; it would've been more cathartic if Satsuki had really sharpened her toenail until it could cut through a chain (i.e. she had no contingency plan, but managed to escape anyway).

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?...
When did anybody supplex a planetoid?
...cause that sounds pretty damned awesome.
One Strip! One Strip!Sorry to keep harping on about this, but I think I really like the idea that Kill La Kill is set in a female-dominated world.
I mean, think about it. The big Evil Corp is a fashion label (fashion being a typically—or stereotypically—female interest), and Satsuki is drawn with some features normally used to accentuate masculinity in males, like bushy eyebrows and a lantern jaw.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?eh, doesn't make it all that more interesting to me.
The series is perfectly fine as is.
Watch SymphogearMy interpretation takes everything in the show "as it is" into account and is valid.
