Giant dress wearing girls fighting on a Galaxy....god.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Senketsu would let Mako wear him if it's for Ryuko!
@Adamsilan: I've seen Mr. Ramba Ral from Gundam Build Fighters wearing Sentseku. Not a pretty sight.
And, with regards to my last comments, I'm not mad at her for being human. I mean, that type of response is justified and she has every right to be pissed. Plus, it's very rare to see characters actually run the emotional gauntlet, because they have to be put in a certain way and if they go out of that bound for a period of time, peoples' heads explode and they start whining.
What bothered me is the fact that she decided to go down one of the worst response-based cliches there was, which is the ol' "Get mad at your best friend/closest ally when everything hit the fan". We know they'll work things out, but as far as showing your frustration over the situation, Sentseku didn't deserve it. That's a human trait, but not a good human trait.
I also want to know if her being captured in Episode 20 will be the result of her going it alone (bad idea) or once again taking Sentseku along with great reluctance, as was the case when Nui curbstomped her.
I got some bad newz to tell you.Someone pointed this out to me, but ultimately Ryuko herself doesn't have much of an impact on the plot outside of furthering someone else's goal. So this recent outburst, while justified and completely in character, makes it feel like that someone else will snap her out of it, instead of her doing so herself.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I think she'll be snapped out of it when Raygo captures her in the next episode.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. What bothers me about this is that this is Ryuko's third "I won't wear Senketsu any more" moment in the span of around six episodes. Granted, it was for a different reason each time (afraid of herself; afraid for Senketsu plus ridiculousness of the "clothes are aliens" reveal; projected self-loathing), but the on-again-off-again relationship with Senketsu is making her feel a bit like the action anime version of Rachel.
Each time it happened felt like a completely understandable and natural plot development, but having it happen three times in such close proximity doesn't feel like good storytelling to me.
Take into account that the pacing of this whole show is ridiculously fast to begin with.
That's probably one of the flaws of the show honestly, plot points don't have enough time to sit and develop before we've moved onto another.
And in this case, this is the third time this particular plot point has been used.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.To be fair the second one lasted all of three minutes in-universe. She put Senketsu back on as soon as he asked her to that time. This is the first time he's been outright rejected, and this might be due to that weird song the COVERS were playing just before.
It still technically counts as Padding, which isn't inherently a terrible thing and like you said, might serve a purpose.
But yea, I can't blame people for being a slight bit upset because this is still the third time they've had to endure this.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Third time? I may need a refresher. I only remember this happening twice.
Episode 12, Episode 16, and now this episode.
Unless I got my numbers wrong, pretty sure that adds up to three.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. She also tried to get him off her when they first met, but then she jumped and found out he gave her Super-Strength, which she needed at the time.

I dunno if the second one really counts because it's more Ryuko being pissed off by Nudist Beach's cavalier attitude towards Senketsu, which was quickly resolved the next episode.
I don't think it's an issue, the pacing, because it helps differentiate it from other shows that spend a lot of time faffing about doing nothing.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Oh that moment in episode 16? That really doesn't count.

Ya know, the fact that it was resolved quickly doesn't change my point about it being the same plot point more or less: Ryuko refusing to put on Senketsu.
A fast paced show isn't necessarily better than a slow paced one.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. It's just Trigger's house style though, they simply don't do slow.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. And I understand that, am I not allowed to voice my opinion if I feel it drags this show down a tad?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. But you're simplifying the situation to make it seem exactly the same.
No, you're on the wrong turf boy.

Except I never said they're exactly the same, just the general plot points; I already know the circumstances behind each, that doesn't really make what I said any less valid tho.

Well, they have to top TTGL right? Galaxy chucking should happen in an episode or 2.
