Quest 64 Roleplay Sign-Ups and Rules

Rules:

• 1) All players must listen to their GM on matters. Likewise, this does not mean constructive criticism is unwelcome. It means to be reasonable about it.
• 2) During a battle sequence, please do not post more than once after the GM. This can sometimes apply during a regular interaction with a GM character as well.(but not always)
• 3) The nature of the roleplay is for teenagers specifically, thus, some light romance is fine. In addition, things like marriage, and other related stuff may be explored depending how the players go about it. As most Monsters are sapient, that means that things can happen among characters and otherwise. Obviously, any sex and sex-related stuff is to be kept offscreen.
• 4) Respect the other players and don't be a dick about things. Likewise, while there may be some in-game racism here and there, please do not start it without the GM's permission. It'll be talked about in the Discussion first.
• 5) We'll be starting when I get the rest of my key information available. I apologize for the massive hiatus. -_-
• 6) Keep the shitposting in all related threads(including this thread) to a bare minimum. I know many players like to use the Discussion to discuss tons of other stuff, but I do not want this to happen in that one. Things like "I won't be here today" or "I just got a job, so I might have less time" are related. Things like "I just got this really cool game, so I want to tell you all about it" are not. Now, "I got this really cool game, so I won't be on here as often, sorry." is another story. Basically, no spam that has zip to do with the topics.
• 7) After some thought, Script Format will be type of posting used for the main game. This is due to keeping it as easy as possible for all players to communicate. Another purpose is to make sure people know who they're talking to. Lastly, in the actual world, you can see a person's Name when you converse or battle them.
  • 7a) Although there is some fourth wall breakage, please note to not completely talk about the mechanics. Use some tact. People might know that they can level up, but only speak of stats, at best, if they exist. As in, nobody has Hit Points in-game(albeit, you can see Monsters' due to a spell called Soul Searcher) to speak of. I expect people to think before they post about this. Related, although it's a game world, people are not "players" in the game, so there is no person behind the screen to talk about. Keep that in mind.

Here is the Sign-up Sheet.

• Name:
• Race: Human, Dwarf, Elf, or One of these. Human, Dwarves, and Elves do not have base avatars uploaded. You're free to find one for yourself in some way. I am not picky about them at all, including if they're from another work.
• Age: This is somewhat dependent on your race.
• Sex: Some races may be an exception, but generally Male or Female.
• Hometown: Where you lived first. This can be generally any location the monster/humanoid comes from.
• Background: How your character came to be.
• Personality: How your character generally acts.
• Avatar: Check here for the appropriate one.
• Coins: Your money, and yes, this exists now. Humanoid players start with 20 coins each, and Monsters start with an amount depending on what race they are. You'll be told your starting amount soon enough.
• Spells: This'll be given out at the start depending the character's race.
  • Please list spells by Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Remember, if a spell says "Spell" Lvl 1, this is not an actual Level 1 spell via magical use. It just means it has the ability to be upgraded. No more, no less.
• Items: Your list of items. Up to 20 items per player. You'll be given it by me.(before the start of the game, or during it)
• Key Items: Story Items and Wings.
• Spirit Gemstones: To be used in a Lottery.
• Item Drop: This is a special item that only Monsters can start with. If you are defeated, you may drop this item, where you may currently have it or not. Don't think too much about it, cause it's a magical land filled with dumb things.
• Equipment: This only applies for the Humanoids.(Note: You cannot start with an Item Drop and Equipment. If you are a Humanoid, you get basic equipment, and if you're a Monster, it's an item drop.)
• Stats: Your total numbers.
  • Experience Points: This is your current experience total.
  • How Many To Next Level: What it says.
  • Earth: You'll have 0-50 Earth depending your race.
  • Fire: 0-50 Fire depending race.
  • Water: Take a guess.
  • Wind: Obvious.

Note: Experience charts will be done slightly differently. I have a list, and will simply just tell you the current update. In addition, please update your char sheets for this new version. Ask any questions you need to determine your items, etc.

A couple of questions. First, if we're playing as a human, can we use any image for the Avatar section? Second, do all players have spells, or can we play as a martial hero? Third, are our items restricted to anything? Fourth, how do we determine spirit gemstones? Fifth, how do we determine our stats?

I'd ask those questions in the other topic for now. But to clarify, in order;

1) No. Humans require your own avatar. Same with Elves and Dwarves.

2) All players have spells. All humanoid players start with 1 in each Element and Fireball Lvl 1, Wind Cutter Lvl 1, Rock Lvl 1, and Water Pillar Lvl 1. Monsters have a different list of starting spells depending upon which one. There are no "Martial" heroes. But you can simply avoid using Spells by choice, and do physical attacks with your weapon. Weapon damage is entirely based upon your total Elements.

3) Items will be given out, and are restricted to specific ones. You will receieve them in-game as normal.

4) Spirit Gemstones will be given out by beating enemies, finding them luckily in areas(including Treasure Chests and searching things), and a small list of Monsters start with them.

5) Your stats depend upon what you start as. Beginning stats will be given to a specific player after they choose their race. Current stats are unavailable at the time as I haven't finished each individual one yet.

• Background: Helena had a relatively normal childhood and often hung out with a group of friends of which she quckly became to sort of leader of the group getting them in many situations. She's always had a knack for helping people and even at times suffered from Chronic Hero Syndrome, unfortunately this also means she tends to get in trouble for intterupting things. When she was old enough she was sent to the monastery to study magic. I'd do more but I don't know much about the Quest64 world.
• Personality: Overly caring and always eager to help Helena prefers to take a step back to see the best path in life and how best she can assist others. This unfortunately means that she tends to stick her nose where she's not wanted.

@Azure: Not bad, but a few differences; Your items won't be consisting of anything beyond Blue Wings(due to your city), and Mint Leaves(which is given out quite often in the Inn). Other Items can be found via Drops/Other Cities/Treasure Chests.

Likewise, Spirit Gemstones are not Key Items. Those are separate. They're more or less "Tickets" to use in a Lottery. I apologize for the confusion due to similar names.

Okay, since a new char sheet was created, it'll have to be updated for that. Nobody will start with more than a single regular item. This is not counting obvious equipment which is your Armor/Clothing and main Weapon.(these are upgradeable)

• Background: Grraghhhhhrrrrrrrrra was born in Limelin to a simple and happy couple who named him something beautiful. He had a good and simple life ahead of himself with his good, simple, and happy parents. Then they were attacked. They fled their attacker, barely escaping. Pausing a moment to rest, a wyvern ambushed them. It killed them and at them. The wyvern found him crying on the ground, and took him as a trophy, giving him a proper wyvern name he could be proud of, raising him as the wyvern's own. He was taught to hunt and fight and kill. He would go with his adoptive father and wreck havoc on nearby travellers, killing them, feasting on them with his father, and taking their stuff. One day, his father went off hunting on his own (this happened quite often), but never returned. Grrrraghrrrrrrrra went out to see where his father went. He searched for him, but couldn't find him. Now his searching has brought him to West Carmach, and he is almost ready to come to the conclusion that his father died...
• Personality: Grrrrrrraghhhhrrrra is quick to anger, and often violent. He is fiercely loyal and will protect those he considers to be friends with his life. He is feral and wild.
• Avatar: This, except without the headdress, earrings, and necklace.

Termants should be capitalized, since they count as characters.

Ice Knife and Walking Water are Level 3 spells, and Silence Lvl 1 is a Level 2 spell.(to be clear, in the original build of roleplay, spells took 1-3 MP to cast. Ice Knife and Walking Water took 3, while Silence Lvl 1 took 2) Anyway, that's an old design, but they're not Level 1 spells. The only possible Level 1 spells are Water Pillar Lvl 1, Fireball Lvl 1, Wind Cutter Lvl 1, and Rock Lvl 1. Even if a spell says "Lvl" next to its name, that actually isn't what overall MP cost it would be. Or, to put it more specifically, there's two types of levels, an actual level of spells and how powerful they are, and an actual spell having upgrades(spells with upgrades have Lvl next to its name. This is not the spell MP Level) I seriously apologize for this confusion and will update the Character Sheet to note this.

Also, you don't have an Item Drop in this case. It should just say, in separate lists "Items", "Key Items", and "Spirit Gemstones".

Again, sorry for all this confusion. However, do note that if you're defeated, your natural Item Drop, whether you currently have the item in your list or not, can still be dropped, even if it makes no lick of sense. But as I said, some game mechanics won't leave. You do not have to keep track of your Item Drop, though, as I got that information myself.

You're good beyond that, though.

Approved. May want to separate Item Drop from Item List and remove anything that's from the character sheet list. I.E. "This'll be given out..." stuff like that. It doesn't belong on the actual final sheets.

I apologize, but it'll be much longer than planned before we start. >_<

Update: While I am still unable to start the roleplay, due to various factors, I'm going to ask you, Azure and Game Spazzer/Wonder Squid to please leave this roleplay and thump your posts likewise. In the earlier topic, I was extremely annoyed with non-constructive criticism about the battle system alone, as well as the stats, which is very important to the game, as well as constantly complaining about how the game itself is ran. The other players have not had any real issues with this, and I'd rather just run it as planned, without unnecessary drama or changes. I will be slightly updating the Character Sheets to reflect this.

I am sorry, but that is my decision. I hope you both have a good time in other roleplays, and bid you adieu with nothing but full respect and understanding that already you both felt annoyed by how this game itself is ran. I do believe it'll be problemsome and it's unnecessary to deal with it. Good luck, you two.
