Ummm... well, I was looking for a good picture for Empathy Pet of Tarvek and 'his' waspweasels (good example, not such a good image), and didn't find one, but did incidentally notice that the Head Pet image is really small.
So... some ideas, and I'm sure there are probably even better ones out there from other works. [1] [2] [3] [4].

I love the chihuahua one. It looks the simplest. Also cutest. Look at that cute thing!
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Oh! I totally forgot about the fuzzy moth! I vote for the fuzzy moth.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableOh God, I love that too! Hmm...tough choice (for me, at any rate).

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Chihuahua > moth > everything else (so far)
Moth! Moth!! Mothmothmothmothmoth!
Closely followed by the Chihuahua.
Can't decide which of chihuahua and moth is cuter. Either of them is so very good, and the moth is just fuzzyfuzzyfuzzy and less common. Chihuahua has that absolutely adorable facial expression, though, and that attitude... Ja, I pick that one.
I swear this isn't normally what I select images based on, honest!

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I'll throw my hat into the ring with the last panel of this comic. Also, this image:

That's my contribution for this one.
Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle SeriesCan you save it as something other than a BMP? Those are typically really, really bloated, filesize-wise.
Moon◊Not sure if it's the source pic or the shrinking, but that's really artifacted.
I think it's good, but weaker than a few others.
Check out my fanfiction! After a bit of consideration, I cast my vote at the chihuahua one. Although both this one and the moth one are very clear examples, at least in my eyes this one looks clearer.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Crowner's set up in the OP.
Bump for votes.
I have a preference for Katara and Momo. The Naruto one illustrate well the trope too.
The one with the moth isn't too good in my book, because it's hard to tell it's actually an animal and not some elaborate headger without reading the text.
One more bump.
This one's ready to call. The new pic's up and tagged; caption or no?
No caption.
Either that or some kind of innuendo about bitch (I am assuming that's a female dog) and head?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. How about: "Cat in a hat? Close; hound for a hood."
We could use homburg rather than hood, or even hat.
