Just a Face and a Caption (CROWNER): Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance

...neither of which even explain each other. I have absolutely no idea who that is, what is supposed to happen in the image or what the caption means.

Anyway, his hair is fire colored (Red, orange, yellow, and stands up in spikes), he's wearing a red shirt, and appears to be emitting smoke. I assume he has Fire powers of some sort (Which I assume is what the caption lampshades). I disagree its JAFAAC. That said the image quality is very meh. Would like something higher quality where he's showing said fire powers.

So Keep Until Better Image Suggested for me.

The Wikimedia image is good for me.

The image is nice but do you think you can remove the Cartoon Network logo on the bottom.

Don't really got the tools for what here.

Much better.

I like the current a bit better than Volcana, but it does need a better quality version.

I know the quality isn't great and he could actually be displaying his powers but I prefer the current for the reasons Cobra Prime described.

Honestly, I am still fine with the current, especially we can find a quality upgrade

Those are really good. I don't know which I like better. I like the smoke in the first and the fact that we see him straight on in the second.

I prefer the first myself, because the second could be interpreted as his hair looking like that because they are on fire.

Either of those are good...I lean slightly toward the first.

Current picture is very generic: a) I didn't immediately realize that his hair was flame colored and b) I didn't immediately realize that he was surrounded by flames.

13.2 is the best put forward so far, but still his hair doesn't quite have the vibrancy of actual flames. 13.1 is at a slightly awkward angle and almost doesn't link the flame to the person enough.

We don't have to go with a fire person. I'm somewhat fond of the gambling king as an example◊, though I'm having trouble finding a good colour version. And perhaps the heroic version would be more straightforward.

The hair doesn't need the vibrancy of actual flame. That's not what the trope is. Its that someone's appearance is unusual but appropriate with his power set. IE: red heads with blond streaks get fire powers, white and blue hairs get frost, stuff like that. Your suggestion doesn't show he has any powers to begin with.

I prefer Volcana.

The trope doesn't require powers. It merely requires that their appearance improbably coincide improbably well with their abilities/functionality or what they do in the story.

And my point is at the moment I could just as well say that guy's a maroon and gold sports fan or was going for a lion's mane appearance.

So thinking about it like that, I actually like 8 better, because it doesn't look like anything else apart from flame.

Several good suggestions. I'm kind of undecided at this point, but I don't think any of the ones at least a few people like would be a bad choice.

Cobra Prime, there's no need to take away your suggestion just because you don't like it, especially when others do like it. I don't care for it but still. It can still be found in 3.

It's true. All the character needs to qualify is a rare trait. Powers count but are not necessary. I think fire shows it really well. I don' see it on the gambling king. He looks like the king from playing cards?

Are we going to have a crowner for this? The quality of the current is really bad.

I love the Gambling King one — it's a more unusual example, and I think very clever, and being black and white doesn't matter to me. Second to it are either of the suggestions in #13.

I also prefer the Gambling King - I think it's actually better than an example with powers, so that it lacks the possibility of being Locked into Strangeness.
