I really love the whole "split-head" bit. It's an awesomely different take on Eyedol's original two-headedness, and it actually justifies the stance-shifting approach (since it's two halves of the same mind trying to regain control of each other).
I also like the randomness behind the switches. I've seen enough pro leagues to know how much of a dirty word RNG is, and I'm glad IG's willing to roll even with that in order to try to be unique while still being able to pull it off smoothly. It also makes sure that you have to be good at both stances to use him effectively, which is a nice way to prevent the kind of over-specialization that you'd normally see otherwise.

So, yesterday I learned that the latest installment of this series got a PC port not long ago, after seeing it recommended to me by my computer's Start menu. I don't normally pay Windows 10's app recommendations much heed, but seeing it on there made me think "There's a PC version of this now?!" I only lightly dabbled in the first game, but I played a lot of KI 2 in the arcade as a Glacius main when it was new, and have KI Gold for N64. I was disappointed when I learned the latest installment was Xbox One exclusive since I didn't own one and wasn't going to get it just for one game.
But now that there's a PC version, I might give it a try. I think it's safe to assume a keyboard will be way too awkward for me to play a fighting game effectively with, so it looks like I'll also be in the market for a controller to play with. Would anyone have any recommendations for me?
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.
I would first buy something cheap like one of those low-end Logitech game pads.
Or even better if you know someone with a wired, USB fight stick for X360/X1/PS3/PS4 you can plug it in and see if it immediately works...
...and if it doesn't you can just download Xinput so the controller in most cases will be recognized as an Xbox controller and you can map keys and stuff.

Two main takeaways - there will be a free-to-play version of the game, that will rotate through a free fighter each week, and an anniversary edition will be released as well, that contains all the content released for the game. Anyone who owns the game will get upgraded to the anniversary edition for free.
