No. That is a trope (though it seems redundant but that is for another thread), this is an Audiance Reaction.

Went through live action and animated film sections. Had to go through a lot of square pegs. If you disagree with my edits, discuss.

The Justice League one should be put back. Its an entirely valid entry as Justice Lord!Batman really does have a point.

Shamelessly plugging my comics, Oh yes.

[up]Something that is deliberately intended as a moral grey area is not a strawman.

More square pegs have been pulled out. Anime, Literature, Theater, and Video Games sections still need to be gone through.

Theater has been taken care of; only two entries qualified. Video games were also taken care of. Amusingly, video games which leave the moral choice to the player were included. Professional Wrestling really looks like a huge mess and I am tempted to just cut the entire thing. Are there really arguments to be caricaturized in that category, or is it all a case of characters not getting along?

[up] I say cut. I was gonna say "check the wrestling forum" but we don't have one.

I checked around and found what I think is a valid example for literature from the New Jedi Order series, one that was eventually discarded because later authors recognized it for a strawman.

Though I checked back and somebody's added a questionable sentence to it, and I'm not at all sure about the Fate of the Jedi one (it seems more like a Broken Aesop than SHAP).

No one has any thoughts on Professional Wrestling? Anyone believe we loose anything by cutting it?

I don't even know why we count it as a medium of its own. It's reality TV WITH HUGE SWEATY GUYS!

Purged the section wholesale. Analysis showed that the trope was being regarded as 'Heel Has a Point' instead of 'Strawman Has a Point'. If there are legitimate examples of SHAP in Professional Wrestling feel free to add them; but it has to be about an argument being characterized that makes at least some amount of sense.

Is there still misuse? Seems like there are some people purging the dubious examples.

OK, I cleaned the sections that Editor Pall Mall didn't edit and watchlisted the page for further quality control. It is clean now.
