...without being a Sue?

I'm trying to write a short story with a main character with most Sue traits-odd eye/hair colors, So Beautiful, It's a Curse,et cetera. Could this concievably work? To give you a taste of the story, here's the first couple lines:

'hi my naem is belladonna costello sde rubyhart ans io am six teen yeasr oeld and i jahve purlpe eyes like settimng suns and glkistening white, blonde hare as shere as fabric and evertybodu luvs me!!!'

"Anna."

"Yeah?"

"That is the worst story I have ever seen. EVER."

"It can't be that bad!"

"It is. Throw it away now or I'll do it for you."

"No, I WANT that!" Belladonna lunged for the piece of paper as Anna giggled wildly. "It's based on you! LOVE IT MY GOD!"

So, yeah. The idea of a bad fanfic subverted.

So...yeah.
If it's a spoof, sure, it can work. You'll just have to be careful not to turn the parody back into the real thing.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.

Good to know.

It's been done. Google "troll fic". After my immortal came-out, everyone started doing purposely bad fanfictions staring blatant Mary Sues.

Just to clarify: Are you trying to write an intentionally bad story? Or a genuinely good story that simply subverts certain common Mary Sue traits?

If the former, then sure, it's done all the time.

If the latter, then sure, it can be done just by making sure you write well.

The latter.

I'm personally of the opinion that there are exceedingly few bad tropes — most of the problem is authors who use tropes badly (or who just can't write). If you think you can pull it off, go for it.

I get the joke! I do!
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
