The reward for clearing Heroics is being allowed to craft the golden versions of Naxx cards.

I believe that the reward for completing every last Heroic Naxx quest is the Heroic Naxx card back.

As of right now, we don't get anything. But I think we will once it's all out.

Shifting gears, my favorite of the new cards currently available is probably the ghost spiders. But the most hilarious is probably Poison Seeds.

Haven't played any conventional rounds since it opened. So far the only change I've made was adding Maexxna to my Hunter deck. Though I'm considering adding the Weblord to my Zoolock deck, but I'm not sure what I'd swap out for it.

Also, it doesn't seem like the Naxx cards are in the Arena rotation.

Why would you add Weblord to a Zoolock deck? It affects your own cards too, including Flame Imp, Doomguard, and pretty much any Legendary that normally shows up in Zoolock.

I defeated Heroic Maexxna! I used a Priest deck based on stealing minions, Silence/Mass Dispel, and AoE clears using Pyromancers. The two key moments were stealing her Sea Giant with a Mind Control Tech and using a stolen Webspinner to acquire King Krush. It was a great feeling.

Then I went into Play mode and had a great match against a control Paladin with my updated midrange Priest deck. I knew it would be interesting when my first Thoughtsteal acquired Deathwing. I kid not.

Board position was always contested, except that I managed to drop his health a fair bit. I killed his Maexxna early on, then midway through he dropped Tirion Fordring. I yoinked his Divine Shield with a Thoughtstolen Blood Knight, then he used an Equality combo. Fair enough.

I was running out of cards faster than he was, and my last hope, or so he thought, was to play Maexxna and buff her to 16/16. That would be more than enough to take out his last health and any minion he threw at me.

Of course, I knew he had Deathwing, which he obligingly played. Then I played mine — or rather, his. He sudokued on it, handing me the win. That note was well worth ending the night on.

So am I off with the assumption that Maexxna is going to be going into a lot of decks in the near future? At least on a temporary basis, if nothing else?

Not off at all. It's a legendary that everyone can get, for one thing, and for another, it's an amazingly good card. It's, in effect, hard removal for 8+ attack worth of minions.

It also has 8 health, making it a good buff target for various combos.

I want to Thoughtsteal a Tundra Rhino from a Hunter, play it, then next turn play a 20/20 Maexxna with Charge.

Maexxna + any kind of taunt buff will probably be flavor of the month for a little bit.

I think I just accidentally killed a Miracle Rogue. First one I've seen, actually, since I stopped playing a while ago. It's a weird feeling. I just had more damage on the board than I thought.

Probably helped that he attacked my Nerubian Egg for no reason on turn 2. (incidentally the plan was to rockbiter or flametongue it or something eventually)

@Thinkkafan: Actually I saw Nerubian Egg being played against me on Arena yesterday.

In general, apart from Maexxna, which I didn't test yet I'm disappointed by the new three. Egg looks good on paper, but another minion/buff to get it into work - though it does discourage early board clears. Haunted Creeper just kinda sucks. Weblord can be annoying, but he's not going to do anything else apart from pissing the enemy off a bit.

@Heroics: I dread going there. :c

Also got my first Golden Common(DID) for disenchantment and, perhaps more importantly, Sea Giant. I was wondering if it can work in a Murloc-based deck the same way Van Cleef works in Miracle Rogue, as this big minion that bothers you into focusing on it, therefore not focusing on more important smaller guys.

Well, I finally got around to trying Naxxramas. It's quite fun, getting used to all the new cards and playing around them.

Beat Heroic Anub'rekhan with a pseudo-Token Druid, Faerlina with a Zoolock, and Maexxna with a Face Hunter on my second try, although it took a lot of exploiting of the AI and some lucky draws / bad plays for that last one.

  • Fun fact: the AI will always use its Hero Power at the start of the turn, which is pretty silly when you've got two Wolfriders on the board which should've been taken out by those 1/1 spiders.
  • Managed to get a UTH / Buzzard / Wolf out on Turn 7 against a board with 5 spiders, but made the mistake (?) of going for the face instead of clearing minions.
  • There was a dicey moment when the AI had a board full of spiders and a Spectral Knight, and I'd burned my Explosive Trap from having too many cards in my hand. I played Misdirection and kept my fingers crossed. Spectral Knight went first and hit Maexxna in the face, saving me from lethal and putting it within lethal range of my Wolfriders (which were, stupidly enough, still alive) and Eaglehorn Bow (it's okay, we still love you even if you're nerfed).

So that's it. New content completed in... uh... about 1 hour. Whoops.[lol]

EDIT: Oddly enough, that win seems to have been sheer dumb luck, because I am completely failing to beat Maexxna now. Huh.

It's unfortunate that the content of a single wing of Naxxramas doesn't last that long, because I had a blast playing it and ended wanting more. In about an hour, I had beaten the three boss and two class challenge (first try every time). The heroics looks like they could last much longer. GIMME MOAR NAO !!

Although, I must say I was really lucky in some cases. When I tried the druid challenge (which uses some kind of token deck, so I felt right at home), I got Innervate, Mark of the wild, and the new 1/4 that heals itself at each turn. So, first turn this beast, then the mark: 3/6 regenerating taunt. I could only laugh as the AI couldn't pass this wall, giving me a victory without any damage.

And then I tried a second time, and she kicked my ass. tongue

[up] Yeah the buffed Gargoyle is also how I finished the Druid challenge. Taunting 4/10 who returns to full health each round is brutal when the AI lacks removal.

Cloning Ooze is awesome. Drop it. Defender of Argus / Mark of the Wild it. Watch as it clones itself with the buff. I can see this card becoming VERY popular in a lot of decks.

Cloning the Ooze will work great with bounce decks featuring Brewmasters. I can see that kind of ridiculous gimmick working in a Token Druid deck. Drop it, buff it, let it clone itself, then bounce it, drop it, buff it, repeat.

It seems that, Maexxna aside, the really good stuff from Naxx will be in the later wings.

The ones you have to pay for. Hmmm...

Yeah.

I think that I will shell out the $20 anyway, just for convenience's sake. I do think that I might be able to make 700 gold in a week, but I doubt it.

[up]As long as you can get something else out that turn, yes.

I made a custom Hunter deck based on cheap things with Charge and good battlecries, and took her down that way.

Also, the Innkeeper and the Naxx residents aren't the only ones saying new things. Rexxar now goes "To my side!" when he summons an Animal Companion.

That's all I've heard personally, though. Any other new lines from anyone?

I got a new line from the innkeep informing me that stealthed minions cannot taunt when the scenario occured. Nothing else new that hasn't already been mentioned.
