Evil Eye has three existing meanings off-wiki:
- A curse ("the Evil Eye")
- A glare ("giving someone the evil eye")
- The literal interpretation of evil-looking eyes.
Next round of roll-call: the new name. As before, we'll be taking votes for a minimum of 72 hours. The options:
- Magic Eye
- Magical Eye
- Magically Empowered Eye
- Enchanting Eye
- Occular Magic
- Occular Casting
- Cast From Eyeball

Are there any updates on the potential YKTTW?
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.The fact that nobody posted is usually a good clue that there was no progress.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanClue, yes, but I've seen people make YKTTW without posting before.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBasically, yes.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCleaned up parts of Magic Eye relating to the former trope name.
Swapped Evil Eye with Magic Eye on the indexes the former was listed on, except for We Are Not Alone, because frankly I don't know how to change that one right.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. No, no and no, respectively.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanUnfortunately, we have overlooked that Magic Eye is an established term for something completely different: those pattern pictures that show a 3D image if you stare at them hard enough, like this one◊, also known as stereograms. That other wiki explains the term.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! The way your page redirects says me that it's better known for the work. And we are still in time to rename this to Magical Eye.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMagical Eye is probably a better name considering that Magic Eye is something else.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickNow you got me looking at stereograms for way too long... (though I did finally manage to see a cross-eyed one, which has previously eluded me.)
Anyway, Magical Eye did have enough support to become a redirect, so I don't see an issue with switching. Personally I don't see that much of an issue of not switching either, though.
Check out my fanfiction!I'd prefer Magical Eye over Magic Eye, considering the established work.
Moon◊Yeah, Magical Eye sounds clearer.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.OK, barring complaints, executing this other change soon.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanKay, did the rename fix. I left the subpages alone in case we need them again.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOK, since this isn't moving: Has anybody a description for The Evil Eye? I could pull it through YKTTW.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSince you asked for a description... how's this?
It's not to be confused with Magical Eye, when the eyes themselves have magical abilities.

Macron's notesThat's not bad...some grammar dings, though: It's thought to be supernatural or magical in nature, so the person giving it could be a sorcerer or witch. The person who possesses the evil eye is usually characterized as being envious, hateful, or devious. In many countries and cultures, talismans, necklaces, bracelets, and charms are worn to dispel and protect from the evil eye.
I made a YKTTW for The Evil Eye.
Macron's notesSo, as has been mentioned in the YKTTW, The Evil Eye just seems unnecessary. The trope itself is covered completely by No Eye in Magic and Deadly Gaze, and creating more confusion since people will keep using it for all three possible uses.
I vote we make Evil Eye a disambig for No Eye in Magic, Magical Eye, Deadly Gaze, and Death Glare.

Disambig. We can wait on a fake redlink.
