There should be an option for "Not Really a Useful Note."

Basically this page is an analysis of how hair color tends to be used in Anime and other Japanese Media. However, the name and the fact that it is in the Useful Notes namespace makes it look like it is something about Real Life hair in Real Life Japan.

At a minimum, I propose that we rename it. Something like Hair Color In Japanese Media would work.

As an alternative, we should consider making it into an Analysis page for Hair Colors or Anime Hair, given that this is more about trends in media than it is about Real Life stuff.

I feel that would work as a supertrope/index best.

Additional Option: This might serve also serve as an Analysis page for You Gotta Have Blue Hair.

To me, it looks like that page is about any hair colours and not just the unrealistic ones, which is why I oppose the analysis option.

Not really useful notes, but handy for understanding a trope or a bunch of them? Analysis, my friend. That's a namespace we have these days.

Well, let's say this is a trope in its own right (How colours are used in Japan) and not so much an analysis on several things that either are tropes or should not be tropes.

It might work as some kind of supertrope, but as written, it's an analysis of the subject.

We need more discussion. What do people want to do with this?

  1. Keep as a Useful Notes page
  2. Make is an Anaylsis page for an existing trope
  3. Make it a Trope of its own

The current page talks about all sorts of colours and associated phenomena. It isn't limited enough to turn into anything else.

I don't think the page is very good but I don't know what to do about it other than some clean up. I do think that making clear dividers between hair colors at the very least would be a huge improvement, as I do not like the formatting.

Pardon the bump, but is there anything else to do here? I only see a weak consensus to keep as-is.

[up]I guess not. There doesn't seem to be any strong consensus to change it to anything in particular.

We might as well lock the thread.
