@joeyjojo: I don't think so. I'd love to see a movie that actually deals with mental illness realistically. I dealt with depression and suicidal tendencies in highschool, and it just rings really hollow when you see the guy on the screen suddenly grab all the magical friends who love him and secretly want to bone him.
I'd rather the world betray me, but I won't betray the world.I was actually referring to the complaints of 'Manic Pixie Dream Girl' and 'Nice Guy wish fulfilment fantasy' then the depiction of mental illness, but fair enough.
If you have been in a situation of mental illness/depression I could see why you would object to it being treated in such a manner.
hashtagsarestupidEmma Watson's character really did fill the Manic Pixie Dream Girl role though, yes, they gave her issues, but between that and the protagonist going on and on about how she dates jerks, and her harboring a secret crush on him the whole time, it really just seems like wish fulfillment.
Also, the main character really comes off as a Pity Sue.
The book may very well give the characters and the story a lot more depth and not have the same problems, but I haven't read it, so I have no idea.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Lawless with Tom Hardy & Guy Pearce. A pretty good gangster/period piece. Too bad it had Shia LaBeouf in it.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Man of the House, with Tommy Lee Jones. Much, much better than I was expecting.

Glad they didn't change it to match THG.
Uncle Buck. I never saw the whole thing before. It was very good.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Yup, it is. IMHO John Candy and Macaulay Culkin's best film.
My turn! Carry On Jack, with Bernard Cribbins and Kenneth Williams. Quite funny and not as smutty as the others in the series.
Gay Purr Ee. It was... odd.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerPaths of Glory, with Kirk Douglas and Adolphe Menjou. Brilliant film, which is basically a documentary showing how fouled up the French Army leadership cadre were during the First World War. Sadly no side's were much better...

How to Train Your Dragon 2. The problems I have with it - Hiccup's attitude, Drago's story (or lack thereof) and pretty much everything about Valka - all still stand. That said, it's still well-made and engaging enough for me to like it.

Looking for some stories?Continuing my ITV 4 Sunday movie marathon, I watched the 1979 tv movie version of "All Quiet on the Western Front", with Ernest Borgnine and Richard Thomas, which was a really good film and well worth watching. Good acting, great costume design and quite a good script.
I then followed that up with "Police Academy III - Back in Training", which in it's own way was a really good film and well worth watching. Not as funny as the first two Police Academy films, probably, but still funny nonetheless.
Lucy.
Get's a bit weird at the end.
I've seen this before, and it's a decent, slightly more "realistic" take on the 80's Slasher Film thing. And hey, Jason Alexander's first imdb credit.
Back To The Future - I'm planning on watching the whole trilogy one at a time this week. The first one still holds up pretty well. And on a similar Hey Its That Guy note: Pa Peabody (the farmer in 1955 who mistakes Marty for an alien and starts shooting at him) was also Billy's grandfather in the original Silent Night Deadly Night. There must be something about him and hammy, one scene wonder old guys.

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.I saw the trilogy a few weeks ago, and yeah, they are awesome!
But the first one is the best :3

A well done indie film with an extremely realistic romance and some rather depressing scenes. Still great though.
I'm on Youtube Reviewing Things Cause I can.I just finished watching EDtv. I think I liked it more than The Truman Show. -prepares to have things thrown at him-
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.PitchPerfect y'know the college acapella one... It had a lot of potential for a gay pair and just.... swerved. Kinda disappointed about that.
Real Life rwby rose
Mad Max. It was decent. I still need to find and watch the sequels.
