Structural classism as the language developed.
Same thinking caused sexism in language, too.

Well, I mean, depending on your interpretation of how the French Revolution turned out...

ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅWell, if you liked that song, try this one.
"Lock up your girlfriends, lock up your wives, Grim's on the loose so run for your lives." - PyriteI heard left-handers are quite the sinister bunch.
See that issue the one I was thinking of.
A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the lineAlso, poor = a bad show, not up to scratch, etc. For example, "Your work is poor."
I'm not at all surprised to discover there are classist biases in language because, to my knowledge, for most of human history, class was the ONLY thing that mattered. Only recently (comparatively) have concepts like egalitarianism and widespread education been put into wide circulation.

"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDY

"Lock up your girlfriends, lock up your wives, Grim's on the loose so run for your lives." - Pyrite@Tom: Hey, so am I! We should form a club.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."so are rich people, and other people.
This guy right here.
How dare you disrupt the sanctity of my soliloquy?
Etymologically.
Naughty - someone who has naught. Rascal - lower class. Vulgar - common. Especially notable is "Vulgar Latin". Villain - French for peasant. Russian word "zlodey" (evildoer) is akin to Ukrainian "zlyden'" (peasant).
Boor and churl are also on that list.
