Oh, I don't expect the movie to make any scientific sense at all (like the first) it's just Techno Babble but it's forgivable because it's (mainly) a Rule of Fun movie for kids.
The only problem I see the film having is that it seems to depend on a LOT of puns for its humor, unlike the first, and those do not translate well. I suppose each dub will just have to make up its own.
Ha, I liked the leak joke. It's an actual leek.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."hmm, my first thought was aw shit, really?! REALLY?!
then i saw the trailer at the theater
and was like hahaha, WOW! this'll earn a couple hundred million.
"I will strike down all that threaten my clan!"This trailer is new, right?
The food monsters look interesting...and I'm sure the enviroments will be nice. Not sure about the humor, some of the stuff looks funny, but the Steve stuff looked meh and no Mr. T FTL.
Here's the craziest Youtube comment I've seen for this movie:
See; "Genetic Roulette", from Dr Oz's wife , Lisa.
Twisted Corporations Proffering death with a Smile.
EVIL is upon us all.
This is a sick soft sell on Franken Foods, people.
GMO's!
See: "The World According to Monsanto".
It's designed to kill us slowly, or in the case of children, destroy their chances for reproduction in the future and give them Allergic reactions and Asthma NOW.
They forgot to say something about Hitler.
It all just reminded me of the ol' "strawberry-fish" concept I first saw drawn onto a picketing sign at some protest against genetically-modified foods.
Looks like a lot of the humor is gonna be pun-based.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Yes, or maybe that's just what they want you to think. I just think they'll need some darn good writing to overcome the Squick of living food. (Though wasn't the first movie already heading in that direction toward the end, since they must have been running out of "things falling" as ideas to create new disasters? I never saw the whole thing through...)
Maybe if you go in making jokes like, "I thought animals were already made out of food..."
And where does the Chester V stuff from the official description come in?
Today's the day, guys!
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Everyone's excited, I see!
I saw it yesterday. My thoughts: I wouldn't say it was as good as the original, but it's still a pleasant treat from Sony, especially considering I couldn't get into Hotel Transylvania. 7.5/10
Peace is the only battle worth waging.I liked it but you really need to see part 1 to get some of the jokes.
Saw it. The visuals were AMAZING and I loved the end credits. However, the story and joke were noticeably weaker than the first film, especially the villain.
I hope to see it Friday.
PLEASE tell me I wasn't the only one going "...what?" when the cameraman made the live is backwards for evil connection.
Finally saw the film itself.
Really enjoyed it. Not as much as the original, but that was more character-oriented. This was more, well, visual. And the puns didn't drown out the story like I feared. Also it did have its moving moments. My favorite was when Barb the Ape turned on Chuck. Predictable, but I still enjoyed it. I was surprised that the villain actually gotten eaten, though. I guess killing animals is wrong but killing people is OK? Uh Oh Broken Aesop!
Eaten alive by food? Yeesh. Sounds like something out of Hambuster.
I've just seen the first movie.
I can't believe I missed out on it because of the absurd premise and the terrible humour.
IT FEELS LIKE IT WAS THE BEST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
This IS a very weird concept. Not to mention how people pointed out from the first film that neither weather clouds or food have DNA to even alter to begin with. I'm more griping because of what makes this film different enough for Mr T to refuse appearing in it. Maybe he read the script and didn't like it.
