The Dresden Files RP- "Edge Town"

Katelyn shook her head. "Here is what we know- the prison we need to get into is beneath St Peter's Tomb, we can't enter the prison because we do not posses the keys, and even if we did the magical door containing Loki's Friend is enchanted with a spell that can't be broken."

"Meanwhile, at least two faction of supernatural powerhouse- one a band of Fallen that holds the key to the prison we need to enter, are trying to shank each other."

The boy turned over on the ground, staring at Anne and Ayda and shaking his head vigorously- the talisman still gripped in his left hand.

"Three factions. This is Italy - the minute the shoe drops I'm going to bet the White Court will want to get involved with this."

"And if what we heard is correct the Denarians in question may actually be stronger than they appear to be on paper." Tim sighed. "The reference he made to a 'Zoe'? Worst Case this is short for 'Zoesiel', a Fallen Angel Kat - my Kat that is - and me confronted years ago."

He paused for effect.

"I made some inquiries after that and what I found out is that this Zoesiel is a...unaligned Fallen, fighting for both the 'Main' factions of the Blackened Denarius or anyone else who meets her particular desires. From my experience, she is very very dangerous. And if she truly is here this means Kol managed to convince her it is worth her time."

"Who knows who they have recruited who is officially not in their team too."

Katelyn shook her head. "I'm not so sure about that. Ramiel is as close to Kol as a person can get- and he seemed to have some kind of antagonistic history with this Zoe figure. At the very least he seems to think that whoever sent us also has her on payroll. Kol....He chooses his friends very carefully. When he trusts he does so completely and with full faith- I can't see someone as paranoid as him welcoming a loose can mercenary type."

Tim sighed deeper. "So she's part of the third faction. Of course. Because being stuck between two minor factions of the Fallen fighting each other is exactly where Loki would put us." he massaged the bridge of his nose.

"Last time it was two faerie armies. This is practically a holiday in comparison."

"...I am not eager to repeat that performance in any way." Tim retorted in a flat tone.

"You and me both, Tim. You and me both." Jarl took a sip from the carbonated lemon beverage. To his great surprise, it actually tasted like lemon.

"The music box should be first priority, though. That's the one we've got knowledge of already, and if it's on display somewhere it might just be the easiest to get. Of course, as soon as we do that, the chaos probably starts. The question is whether that's to our advantage or not."

"Depends on how we get it. If we can fool both factions into engaging each other without bothering us..." Tim shrugged. "But then, the collateral damage might be punitive on that tactic."

Ayda bit her lip, clearly concerned for the boy bleeding out in front of her. She wrote "Is there anything else we can do?"

Anne hesitate to get any closer. On one hand, injured and bleeding (apparent) human. On the other...she had no way to confirm if he was actually human, save pressing something like her car keys to his face and seeing if it welted. Which would probably not be appreciated if he was, in fact, a dying human person.

She took a deep breath and kneeled down next to the young man, placing a hand on his uninjured shoulder and trying to assess the damage. She had one stitch-up left, but it wouldn't do jack shit for a wound this bad.

Dammit Jim, I'm an Alchemist, not a doctor!

...I said I wouldn't, and I just did.

"Do y-you have a phone number I sh-should call? Home? Um...emergenza?"

"From what I've gathered on these guys, they'll not be too fussy about collateral damage no matter who they fight.

"We can maybe clear civilians out of the area by calling in a terrorist threat or something, but that mainly means the normals we don't want involved will be armed and twitchy."

"Oh god, civillians..." M muttered as he rubbed his face in his hands. "And I guess there's no way in the world we can work this out peacefully so we don't have to deal with possible mortal casualties and involvement and stuff?"

"Neither Mr. Fuck You, Plane nor Ms. Demonic Mercenary Tim Fought sound like peaceable types to me. And Mr. Fuck You, Plane travels with a bunch of lycanthropes, who are definitely not inclined to peaceable and non-berserk modes of behavior."

"Is it wrong to want to at least make the effort!?" M whined.

Katelyn shook her head. "It's not wrong, just nieve."

The moment Anne touched him- something in her senses twinged wrong. His skin was deathly cold to the touch when he should have been baking in the late afternoon sun- already starting to set, and there was a hum of magic...cloaked around him like a veil but insanely fine tuned...and shielding as much as disguising...suppressing.

His hand wrapped around her wrist and he looked her dead in the eye. "I- no. No doctors." He didn't sound Italian. "Please. I need- it's..." He made a whimpering sound. There was something...familiar...about that coldness. But Anne couldn't quite place it.

"I believe its actually four factions. The unknown necromancer? who has a grudge against Tim. And arguably a fifth faction depending on how stealthy we are, given the fact that we're be running around the Vatican and I'm betting they won't be too happy about that."

"Ah yes. Surprise, fear, ruthless efficiency, a near fanatical devotion to the Pope and nice red uniforms."

"And either way it sounds like Kol is at least partially the key to the jail, which means no matter what, we're looking at eventually picking a fight with him. Too bad he sounds like the kinda guy who's worked out a working arrangement with his Fallen."

"At least we know to expect the Vatican," Terry murmured. In a louder voice he said, "Could still be four factions. Nekkermancer could be working with Kol, for all the dick-all we know about them. Or with Zoe, united by their shared hatred of Tim."

Tim just looked levelly at Terrance.

Terry grinned back. "It'd be, like, aesthetically appropriate for Zoe to be working with a nekkermancer, you know. On account of her name meaning 'life' and 'necro' meaning 'death,' there's a nice parallel there."

Tim continued to stare.

"Don't worry, Tim. We'll make sure you're safe and sound."

"Mostly because Kat would kill me otherwise."

"And hey, maybe you'll get lucky and Zoe is the nekkermancer. Half as many nasties with personal reason to hate you as we thought."

"From what I saw, she prefers up close and bloody over magic use."
