Looks like they decided to go with team brawling like in the animated series rather than the large scale military action from the DP 9 game and the two FPS/sims. The success of Hawken and MWO show that mech games do still have an audience so it'll be interesting to see how this game pans out. Need to see more material before I make any other judgment, though.
Here's hoping that a Shogo 2 might actually happen at some point.
EDIT: Oh wait. It's a MMO. A tiered F 2 P MMO. I'm sure that's a lot of unhappy old timers already.

Tiered, as in similar to World of Tanks? That's not too bad, as long as there's no goddamned armor penetration values or random aiming mechanics thrown in.
