Interest Check - FFVII: The After Years

It has been thirty-two years since the impact of Meteor and the destruction of Midgar. Thirty years since the outbreak of geostigma, and the purging of the last of the corruption of the Lifestream. Humanity has remembered how to listen to the Planet again, and has earned its way back into the its good graces once more. Edge is now a thriving city, and while the population of humans was devastated during the crisis involving Sephiroth and Jenova, they have begun to repopulate as well. Wutai is once again a proper sovereign nation, and the WRO remains a source of international support, even with the world once again dividing its territories into a series of smaller nation states. The land surrounding the old, abandoned reactors is now capable of supporting plant life, most of which now does, and the Lifestream storm at the Norther Crater has all but quieted completely

So yeah just that. I had the insane idea of doing an RP about the setting of FFVII after it had recovered from the events of the game and AC. It should be noted that I am not Counting Dirge Of Cerberus cannon. And will be fixing some of the inconsistencies of Crsis Core.

Other than that I was wonder if people would be interested.

Just one question: will everyone be playing OCs, or are canon characters allowed? Probably would stick with an OC myself (although I am somewhat tempted to try out Yuffie or, to a lesser extent, Cait Sith), but someone was bound to ask at some point anyways so I may as well bring it up.

EDIT: ...Should learn to read the OP more carefully, since I only noticed the "thirty-two years later" thing after I posted, which makes the answer to the canon characters question... A little more obvious.

...And I already have a vague character concept figured out. Does a prototype Techno Soldier who was discarded due to apparent "flaws" and who has a Materia lodged in her forehead as a power supply sound workable?

@Techno Soldier:Eh...it just desn't make much sense...I'm sorry. Its just Shinra deeloped good enough robot weapons and their super soldier program was more on the biological side...sorry its a cool idea just doesn't fit.

Also Prose or script form I don't care which one you use.

If it helps my case, she'd really be more of a cyborg than a full machine. Pretty much building on stuff like Deepground, although with a less silly name than "[colour] the [same colour in another language]".

...Would honestly recommend you just stick to everyone using one posting style rather than allowing both prose and script, because otherwise it looks kind of... Bad, to be honest. But that's just me.

I'm not counting Dirge as canon so...Sorry...you could maybe give him a different background. Its mostly the super soldier thing. Those kind of programs you'd think would be made illegal aftger the fall of Shinra.

Also I guess we can put the style to a vote.

I'll probably have to tweak him a bit due to the different timeframe and the standards, but yeah.

I'd prefer prose.

Don't care.

Pros: Script allows me to post more efficiently, prose allows me to be more subtle. Of course, script also forces me to be more subtle when all I have to convey emotion with are dialogue and a few standard action cues, and I enjoy the challenge. Prose, I can just spell everything out, and it feels like a copout sometimes.

Cons: Sometimes people don't read in between the lines very well, in which case script pretty much forces me to say, "BY THE WAY, YOU GUYS, HE'S UPSET BECAUSE X REMINDS HIM OF Y AND HE FEELS GUILTY THAT HE THINKS Z ABOUT IT," and I hate doing that. It also does tend to look unprofessional sometimes. Then again, prose feels pointless when I really only have one or two sentences to contribute, and people bitch at you for doing that (otherwise I'm forced to pad things out with redundant language school-paper style), so I can either post those one or two sentences, or wait an entire page so I have more to react to, forcing me into a wall of text and putting me horribly behind.

That's why I said like Deepground. Even if Shinra fell, there's probably at least some clandestine organization lying around who'd work on such a thing. Could always be one of Hojo's contingency plans if all else fails.

Also, prose. Definitely prose. Since... Ugh, script. >.< Don't mean to sound like a snob, but... I really don't like script format, sorry.

We can do prose, but if you want to react quickly I don't see anything wrong with just writing two or three sentences.

Well hello people. You won't recognize me but this here is an Alt of Strawberrythe Second.

Last time this unfortunately never left the concept stage. Due to time constaints. And that sucks. u_u

So with the inevitable summer break cming aroun I'd like to annouce that I'm reworking the details and hopefully this time we can get it off the ground.
