Yeah. Gossip Girl turned out to be a dude, or something? I dunno, I never watched the show.
The point is, the CW has a small handful of shows that draw viewers, despite not being a major network. I forgot to even mention Supernatural. And they're the only network not explicitly devoted to cartoons that has quality ones on Saturday morning (mostly anime, but they have a few others, too).
Also, there is the Warner Premiere (do they still use that imprint?) releases of the straight-to-dvd/blu-ray DC animated films. As far as I know, they show no sign of stopping.
Thank you for defending The CW.
Wait, somebody's not sure if a Ninja Turtles series has a toyline? Have they been in a toy department since 1984?
"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, GodfellasI assume that was referring to the current series specifically, and not everything before it.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I am really unsure how the thread became to be about Gossip Girl.
I've only recently started seeing merch for the new TMNT.
Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker. Its about The CW's Vortexx block. What I dont know is why we dont discuss it in the freaking thread I made about it.
I'm looking at the list of current Cartoon Network programs, as listed by Wikipedia.
According to That Other Wiki, CN is currently airing four animated series that it produces itself: Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World Of Gumball, and Ben Ten Omniverse. Of those, half are action shows (though, admittedly, Adventure Time is more of a Genre Buster).
As far as acquired shows, if you exclude Asian acquistions and the soon-to-be-cancelled Green Lantern and Young Justice, you have Johnny Test, Star Wars The Clone Wars, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, MAD, The Looney Tunes Show, Dragons Riders Of Berk, and Legends Of Chima. I haven't seen all of those, but I know that Clone Wars and Mystery Incorporated are action shows, and, based on the short summaries I read, Riders of Berk and Legends of Chima sound actiony.
This only covers one of the main cartoon airing networks, but still, if roughly half of their current programming is action-oriented, I doubt that action cartoons are going anywhere bad.

"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoHow is Mystery Incorporated an action show? Sounds like a mystery show, to me.
Not all shows fall under "comedy" and "action".
Scooby Doo and Looney Tunes are "acquired" shows? But doesn't Cartoon Network/Time Warner, y'know, own those properties?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. You'd think, but they also own DC comics, and they have to license those, too.
Well, that's strange.

Well when you put it that way, it makes sense.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.@ Bad Wolf 21: Most episodes of Mystery Incorporated feature a Monster of the Week attacking lots of people and causing loads of destruction, which the heroes have several confrontations with before defeating it in a violent (though bloodless) showdown. Only big difference from a normal action show is that the heroes tend to rely more on elaborate traps than fisticuffs.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoIsn't Gumball animated in Europe??
It is but CN is where it debuted.
Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker. But Raven's counting Cartoon Network's cartoons that they produce under their studio.
If that's incorrect, take it up with That Other Wiki.

Gossip Girls was still airing new episodes a couple months ago? Huh. I hadn't heard anyone talking about it in years, so I just figured it ended or people stopped watching it.
