I doubt they'd allow it.
Oh really when?Nope. Want to make it worse? Have said empire treat the Gems like a Slave Race.
Again, I don't think they'd allow it.
Oh really when? This isn't really gonna go anywhere.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Isn't this the guy who asked how Gems would react to an Elder God?
My various fanfics.Among other things, yeah.
Oh really when?I just find the human side characters kinda flat and boring for the most part. Also for some reason I find them less grounded and believable than the central cast.
There may be a contradiction in those two sentences. I dunno. I just don't get very into the slice of life ish episodes. But that's okay because story episodes are great. Guy can't like everything.
Fanfiction I hate. It's like in Transformers. The humans tend to be the most boring characters in the show.
They're just too realistic.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I just need to find time to listen to these

OK,listened to the song,I'll have to listen to podcast later,it's definitely a Lapis song

New theme music also a boxI also think Lapis is the most likely singer.
Among other interesting facts: Sugar said that a fusion's gem type (or at least their name) can be the same as a non-fusion gem's. So while the Garnet we know is a Sapphire/Ruby fusion, there could be a non-fusion gem who's also called "Garnet" but isn't exactly the same.
I don't expect this to be seen in the show, though, as it's kind of confusing.

I mean, in their own universe the gems very much seem to be the conquering empire, it's doubtful Earth is the only other planet they've gone to with life, or encounter resistance (even if the resistance was mostly from their own).
So in that regard, they'd probably be aware of what to look out for for someone else to try and pull it on them. And as far as being a Slave Race, most gems already fit that description. Ultimately every gem except from the Diamonds themselves is made solely to serve the Diamonds in a specific role.
Please, please, PLEASE let it be a Lapis song.
Lapis is the only character who desperately needs more character development.

Yeah, it's probably a Lapis song.
And re: a Gem's type being the same as a Fusion's: I Knew It!
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยข> I don't expect this to be seen in the show, though, as it's kind of confusing.
I think the reason she's confirmed this now is that one is going appear in the future and finding out this way means it's less of a shock
As for which one,my money is on another Garnet
New theme music also a boxThey said so that it would be less of a shock.
I knew that; maybe I should have phrased my response better.
What's been suggested is that an upcoming plot twist is surprising, the creator of the show didn't want it to be that surprising, and instead of rewriting it back when she could have, she started talking about it in obscure ancillary sources. I really can't articulate how weird and unlikely that is.
The intention would be satisfy viewer curiosity rather than make it less surprising. She's answered questions like that before, when they haven't happened in the show yet. Such as saying we're going to learn more about a character, or a fusion, or a topic in the lore, while not giving away everything.
You could say they shouldn't be saying anything about what's coming up, but they've been doing it anyway.

Thinking again, Sugar probably wouldn't consider it a spoiler even if we do see one such gem later.
I still don't expect to see one. While this possibly explains where fusions get their names fromI'm guessing , in-show it would essentially be confusing semantics. I mean, unless the confusion was the point.
A few other things from the Q&A:
- The Zircons haven't been shattered,
just bubbledbut they're still "in trouble". - Sugar took inspiration from a number of things while designing the Zircons: An obscure bit of LGBT culture from 1930s Paris, the jesters in the Disney short film The Truth About Mother Goose, Jughead ("I really wanted to make a gem with Jughead nose."), and the writer in Film, Film, Film. She did not mention Ace Attorney, oddly enough, even though Katie Mitroff did.
- Sugar sees Sardonyx as being a Fourth-Wall Observer from combining Garnet's Future Vision with Pearl's "obnoxious" feelings of being above everyone else. She also compared Sardonyx to Psycho Mantis (in that specific respect, of course).
- A gemstone obscuring a gem's sensory organs may or may not impede their senses—or make them better.

My bad, I've been out of the loop for a while and thought that episode had aired already.
Oissu!
But what if Gems themselves were subject to discrimination? What if some other, more powerful race treats them like cannon fodder? Or refers to them as "clods"?
