It could just be me but seeing a bunch of kids standing around doesn't really seem to demonstrate school crushing creativity and creating conformity to me, even if I am familiar with the context.

They aren't just standing around. They're regimented. The colours are drab, the lights are dim, the brick walls are close on every side, and the overall atmosphere is just oppressive.

The only bad thing about it is the image quality.

A little better version.◊

The first panel from this is good.

I think that's good, but it also looks like some kind of punishment to me. The assimilation and conformity is more clear in the current one.
