Looking for a Medicinal Plant Resource:
One of the main characters in my story is a healer, and because I want to make it at least somewhat realistic, I've been trying to find a good website with a list of medicinal herbs and their uses. Preferably if it can include:
I haven't used them personally, but here are some places to start.
You will not go to space today.
I was looking something less along the lines of "Prescription Drugs" and more of "Natural remedies." My series takes place during medival-era. But thank you.
Medicinal foraging groups have become more numerous recently. They usualy focus on gathering mushrooms, roots, and various herbs. It is likely that some of these groups have websites with guides as to what is safe to forage, based on area and such. Here's A few practical guides. If these don't work, just Google about, and see what you can find. And don't underestimate what can be found in media. Wolfsbane? Mandrake Root? Real stuff.

Terracotta Soldier ManA few works of interest, since this is a medieval-inspired setting: St. Hildegard of Bingen's Physica, which is conveniently available in ebook form. She also wrote one called Causes and Cures, which seems to only exist in print editions for now. You might also want to look into Galen and Avicenna / Ibn Sina, who also wrote some fairly major works on the subject of medicine that were widely referenced during the period. You can probably find a translation or two in the public domain if your Google-fu is up to snuff. Of course, since they were actually written in the medieval period or earlier, I won't vouch for perfect scientific accuracy, but they might be useful for understanding what people in those times thought would cure their maladies, and many actually worked quite well.

Thunder, Perfect MindThe interesting thing about older herbal texts is that while the reasoning behind why a plant does what it does tends toward whimsy, the attributed medicinal properties are generally pretty on the mark, if na´ve and poorly explored.
Trial and error does wonders.
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
