That's what I meant actually. I may settle either in the UK or Spain. My apologies for not wording my intentions correctly.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. It's good. Strange Minds Think Alike too.

Then I double-down on my suggestion: pick the box and move all your stuff into it. Trying the detached, flitting, not-quite-anywhere, foreign-expat-with-connections-to-"back home"-as-much-as-"over here" who kind of expects to go back home someday... Means you screw your kids up, because you won't treat anywhere you go as really, truly real; so, they learn nobody and nothing really lasts and that they belong only to the nuclear family and nothing else. And, you might have kids. They very definitely won't feel connected to anywhere, not even "homebase", wherever that is for any particular chunk of time in their childhood, be it six, ten or fifteen years. And, boarding school is not a solution.
Because, trust me: behind your back, they will always be treated as dodgy strangers nobody can trust, as they won't be staying. Teachers will treat them like ghosts. Nurses will discount their complaints as rich, privileged whining from gadflies who won't be around in five years, nothing more. And, you won't understand what it's like to be a tumbleweed child, so you won't get what they try to tell you.
Be careful of the life between boxes: the support network you take for granted doesn't exist in so many little ways you won't notice until well after the damage has been done.

I understand then.
Oh, goodu then!
So what kind of work are you planning to do?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I can't speak for Luigisan here, but I for one do not wish to be married. My job, which I will note out to Luigisan, cannot have me make that risk out of time concerns.
So what kind of work are you planning to do?
As I said in my first post here, but for clarity's sake, a writer like you.

OK then, just wanted to be clear.
Of what genres tho?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I decided to have the rest of my conversation with Luigisan taken to P Ms.
As for something new, I have this to ask: Other than Jake Adelstein, any other known foreigners that made Japan their new home?
The writer Donald Richie springs to mind. There was an obituary somewhere that noted that unlike the other notable writers who have settled in Japan, he never ended up leaving.
The author David Mitchell (not to be confused with the comedian) lived there for eight years.
Sounds interesting...
I wonder if there will a new trend of writers who don't live in Japan writing for them...
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. To clarify, those writers sold their books in English, to the West. That's all I know about it.
Same here, though I also plan on learning languages.
However, unlike Luigisan here, I plan on being headquartered in the United States after finishing college, being financially stable ,after making a hefty resume, and the country having sorted out its excesses. I will only consider going to Japan in the event Japanese studios hear of me and want to work with me.
